Let Sgt. Johnson die on Halo.

Eridanus II (John's homeworld) was glassed by the Covenant in the war. For all we know, the clone's dead on the surface with millions of others.

I never thought about the fact the John's clone could have become an ODST....

  • 06.03.2009 8:28 PM PDT

How? if this takes place during halo 2 masterchief would not after halo 1 become an ODST

First off; Flash clones do not last, they suffer from "Metabolic Cascade Failure" and die because they do not grow in a normal fashion, they grow too quickly, and the bodies eventually just shut down.

Secondly the games have never ever mentioned the Spartans upbringing or the clones so it would just confuse the semi-serious fans. Chucking in "Oh by the way John was cloned as a kid, didn't you know?" won't work, they would probably say "John who???".

Thirdly; JD is more than likely a tongue-in-cheek nod to scrubs JD and nickname "noobie".

J= Master Chief's unknown last name.

so your whole theory is based around one letter "J". Woooooooow you're kind of crazy

Reasons why you are an idiot.
1. Flash clones die in less than a month
2. Flash clones have no brain or conscious being
3. Each Word In Your Title Is Capitalized.
4. Just because he has JD in his service tag doesn't automatically mean those are his initials
5. Even if they are, J does not automatically mean John
6. Both John-117 and The Rookie do not have specified names in order to create a sense of mystery around their character, so the player can feel more like they are the protagonist, not to create some crazy conspiracy that they are one in the same. Not to mention that Jon-117 is 7' tall and The Rookie is 186cm tall, or just over 6'.

1. Proof that John did.
2. Then why did they copy Dr. Hasley's brain.
3. No comment.
4. It is speculation. As in possible.
5. Look up.^
6. Once again, a clone. Developed differently.

And also, we all know that Dr. Hasley was immediatly obsessed with John. Therefore she could have broken protocole.

In addition, Dr. Hasley left with Kelly in The First Strike. Kelly was the second most gifted of all the spartans. Therefore she could taken Kelly to the CLONE of John. who knows why. Dr. Hasley loved them both.

So, do you make a habit of not knowing anything that you're talking about?

no they kidnapped john and they cloned him and sent the clone back to earth in his place.

2. That's the idea. Flash cloning body parts and organs requires medical scientists to take a cell smaple of the organ or body part in question, and rapidly multiply the cells to form an exact duplicate of the organ or body part in question. However, human flash cloning, is stated and branded illegal by the UNSC, because human flash cloning is getting an embryo and quickly making it grow and nurture, making it unnatural. This speeding up causes deformations in the clone, and later, this leads to physcological illnesses, and organ failure, then death.

Ok.

Flash clones DO NOT LIVE LONG. As describled in the book Fall of Reach.

In 2517 John was taken and replaced with a flash clone. In 2552 The Events of Halo 2 take place.

Johns clone did not live for 35 years.

Funny how everyone assumes his name is John. Could be James for all we know. Or Jim or Jack or Forrest Gump! Hell he could be Mr. Magoo for all we know!

Basically what I'm saying is solve the mysteries of ODST when ODST is in your 360.

You have no rights. Play Nice.

I am a Halo 3 Failure.

You want proof that they died? Do we seriously need to get a Bungie Employee in here JUST to prove that you're wrong? It say's in Halo: The Fall of Reach that all of them died. You might say that, "THAT'S WHAT THEY WANTED TO HAPPEN, BUT HOW DO THEY KNOW FOR SURE????? I CAN'T THINK CORRECTLY." My response to that is simply that we're talking about the government, don't you think that they'd keep tabs on the clone? So when the book say's "They all died", they all died.

When Dr. Halsey and Lieutenant Jacob Keyes visited Eridanus II in 2517 to study him, they were impressed with his intellect and his luck. In a final test of his viability as a candidate, he was asked to determine which side an old coin would land on. He watched the coin as it flew in the air and caught it before it could land, correctly stating which side was face-up. Later that same year John, and 74 other six-year-old children were "conscripted", covertly kidnapped from their homes and replaced with Flash Clones, all of which would later die of natural causes to cover up the kidnappings.

BAM, here some proof

[b] Halopedia[b]

On Human Cloning:

Flash cloning humans is imperfect, and it is illegal for someone who is unauthorized to flash clone. Doing so would result with severe and harsh punishments for violators and is comparable to modern day child -blam!- in terms of severity. An embryo is taken and developed a hundred times faster than it would have naturally, becoming something different than it would have been. Many anomalies appear because flash clones are forced to develop too quickly. Flash clones have none of the muscle memory, the natural behavioral training most humans get observing people while growing up, of thier hosts. They can be trained with intensive therapy, but after a month or two, they start to degenerate from metabolic instability in a process called "Metabolic Cascade Failure" until they die from various neurological and physiological diseases

I'll be frank. You don't have proof. This is speculation without proof. You don't have evidence, because to have evidence you need something that indicates your theory is plausible. All you have is "their first names start with the same letter, and we don't know for sure the clone is dead."

No offence meant in all honesty, but this is not "proof." And seriously unlikely. I'll support my reasoning with facts.

- The clones die for a reason; full-body cloning doesn't work well. They get sick easily and contract diseases or disabilities that kill them. This is obviously not a 100% chance, but deficiencies are likely to happen. To get into the Marines -- and then the ODSTs --, you need to be fit for duty and crazy to boot. I don't think he'd be fit for duty if he has medical problems

- John wasn't born on Earth, he was born on... I wanna say Eridanus? Something like that. Somewhere that isn't quite Earth, and very possibly burned to the ground with the clone still on it.

Does this mean I think that I have proof that your theory is wrong? No. This is me providing counter-theories that are, also, rather shaky.

Summary: this isn't proof, or evidence. This is speculation. Don't brag that you have proof. Especially with as many unknowns as there are.

Just wanted to point out that John-117 is only 7' tall in the MJOLNIR armor. He's about 6'4 out of it. I'm not sure why. But it is fact.

In your update #3, you mentioned that John could be any age. Wrong. In Earth years, John is currently 42 years old, but due to slip space and how it distorts the body's aging function, John's age is halved, making him at least 21. Also, the Spartan augmentation progress altered the physical features as well. I quote "By the age of 14, John had the body of an 18 year old athlete".

interesting theory, but is it too much for the game audience to handle? I think so. Not to mention the whole 40 some odd year old "Rookie". Why wouldn't he join the core sooner, considering the covenant invasion...

Here I'll quote myself, no read the second paragraph, it gives reasons why the clones don't live so if one didn't work WHY WOULD THE OTHERS WORK????
