Chief was born in 2511. In 2552 Chief is 41 years old.

41 year olds do not join the army or ODSTs that late in their lives.

But if there was a draft and MC was still fit, they potentially could. Sorry for adding this late but MC's clone could have joined when the war first started.

Sharpace, give it up. You're wrong. The Rookie is just a regular ODST. He is 6 foot, average build, and definatly not a clone. If he was a clone, he would of, as stated MULTIPLE times earlier, die within a year or so from "natural causes" so as to trick the parents into thinking there kids was sick and to draw attention away from ONI. And the human clones are imperfect. Cortana was developed from Halsey's BRAIN! To save forum space, stop making posts that presents no logic whatsoever. Firstr, you should read Halo: Fall of Reach. Second, get a hold of that education thing. Third, don't post a thread that can have so many logical holes poled into it. Now, as a closing statement, no this is not a flame. This is a thought out, educated, post stating that your "theroy" fails on several aspects.

Slipspace changes age. He COULD be younger...

Slipspace does not change age... I don't know where you got this info from. Maybe you could list the sources your getting your evidence from.
I'm sorry, but I can't. Its hard enough answering all these posts by myself as it is. I really am sorry. If anyone finds proof, PM me and I will add it to the OP.

Oh and it is clearly stated in I believe the first Halo book (The Fall of Reach for those of you that don't know.) that Slipspace bends space and TIME. Therefore it is possible.
Lets go beyond all the small details. Lets say that your theory is true. This means that John's clone just happens to survive when its CLEARLY stated in The Fall of Reach that the clones all die after a short period of time. And then when his homeworld is glassed he somehow escapes. Then he just decides to voluteer to be an ODST.

While it is true that this could technically happen, it is so unlikely that Bungie would implement something like this into their game. If they did it would make the storyline of Halo: ODST seem unreal and corny. I think you need to accept that Rookie is just a regular ODST unit.

That's pretty good for 2 hours of music without explosions and people yelling. I don't care if you steal it, but God does...

2.08 m / 6ft 10in (7.2 ft (2.20 m in MJOLNIR)
That's the Halopedia link, which I trust. 20 centemetres is significant, not something that could just be grafted on. He may not have been over two metres standing, but he for sure wasn't under 1.9 before surgery. It would have said in the book he felt taller.

Didn't the war start before the Chief was born?

No. His program was supposed to be a covert ops team, not war machines.

Were it so easy.

The reason MC is seven feet tall is because he is a very large human in a very large suit of armor , especially a suit packed with enough gear to adapt to any situation , a self contained atmosphere , and a personall sheild unit will add bulk (and probably height) to any person.

For the OP, can we not accept that Chief and Cortana , as great as they are , may not be the only hero's of the war. Clone john is dead. MC is not The Rookie , nor is he slip spacing/time traveling to Reach at the end of H3. Lets just enjoy these last few stories from the original weavers of the Halo tapestry , before Macromoney ruins everyones favorite hero.

October 7, 2525. If memory serves, the Spartans were conscripted at age 6, ~2517

well im just puting it out there at random, but the flash clones live a couple of years before they die. i have 2 possibilitys that it can be John.

1. John-117 was very lucky and as we all know, the best of the Spartans. Maybe his clone was just as good? he might of survived.

2. Just throwing it out there but maybe, very little, but MAYBE the flash clone had a kid? cause the rookie, as you would think, would be young considering he is a ROOKIE.
maybe he is Johns son?

idk just throwing an idea out there.

I corrected spelling.
And I think I have a pretty good hold of "that education thing." If you disagree then could you please post why, because I would be happy to pursue another degree in any topic of your choice. And third, every theory has holes in them, or else they are laws. So sorry your sad about about that.

I never said my theory is true. I simply said it was another theory. Quotes from Fall of Reach would help. I'm sorry if you don't like it, but there are many of us that would like to discuss this, and if you would like it to disappear, then the best way to do this would be to stop posting.

Also, people who make threads like this obviously never read the books. If they haven't gotten all the facts, they shouldn't be predicting or theorizing. /thread

Regardless , The ages don't match up, Halsey was way to busy with other projects (not to mention covering her own behind 70% of the time) to raise a clone or make a second and have him spirited away to raised by someone else , (Kelley was your assertion , but so many others would know of the clone , that is a lot of messy clean up :ie , any pilots involved with shipment after cloning , scientists involved in the boys creation , all these people would have to be eliminated to ensure no loose ends). I would agree with Duardo about the government completely covering this up and making sure the clones died.
