Subject: Of course ODST is $60, here's why.

People have been complaining about the of Halo 3 ODST. It is $60. I'm surprised it's not higher.

When Halo 3 first came out it was $60, Correct?

Halo 3 Campaign.
6 Hours to play it once. multiple difficultlies, unlockables, meta-game.

Halo 3 Multiplayer
11 Maps? .Custom Games, Custimiziable maps using forge,

Oher Features,
File Share, Forge, Theater, Online Co-Op

About Halo3 ODST. Imagine if you didn't own Halo 3.

ODST Campaign
4 Hours, Online Co-Op, Multiple Difficulties, Unlockables, Meta Game.

ODST Multiplayer - This is where it gets big.
A total of 24 maps, Custom Games, Forgeable maps.

ODST other features
Theatre, Online Co-Op, File Share, Forge, Firefight, Halo Reach Beta.

Halo 3 has a bigger campaign by oonly a few hours. But ODST has 13 more maps.

I'm surprised ODST isn't 70-80 dollars.

I am Katsu Kage, an assassin trained in the art of stealth. I was on a recon mission when I discovered a blue box hidden among some rubble. Once I entered the blue box it had taken me to a land far away. It was strange and fantastic! There I met PatikaVoom, the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen. She showed me this land, then returned with me to the blue box. She called it a TARDIS and seemed to know how to work it. We left together and have been on many adventures, with many more to come!

And you get the Halo: Reach Multiplayer BETA

You forgot to list the new Firefight mode.

Spinning a plate on a stick is impressive, but if you try to spin three at once then you'll just end up digging porcelain out of your face.

It's what Halo 3 should have played like to begin with.

BTW: There is a $100 special edition that comes with a controller.

I think the reason the 60 dollar price tag is pissing so many people off is because this game was at first advertised as a mere expansion which usual goes for 20 to 40 dollars at the most. Its just this game has grew amazingly from what Bungie first thought what it would be.

And what the OP is saying is oh so true.

wow... but what if we already have halo 3, and all the DLC. then we are paying for what we already have? why is that fare? 4 hour campaign? really, i dont think this should be valued at 60$

  • 06.03.2009 9:31 PM PDT

Were it so easy.

I don't care how much of a value it is to the fan who has sat on the wayside and not supported the game or the company for the last year and a half. Bungie is basically saying "Thanks for not buying our game or any of the DLC , just for not careing we are going to reward you with the full H3 Multiplayer expeirience (by the way if you bought H3 , this exp. cost you upwards of around 100 - 130 maybe even 150$ depending on the version of H3 you bought including DLC) plus some new modes and campaign. The only thing you miss is the H3 campaign which you can pick up in pawn shop for 20$" " To our loyal customers who bought H3 and all the DLC we are now going to charge you an additional 60$ for a game mode , three maps and a beta (by the way 10 years ago companys had to beg players to be a part of betas , we certainly did not pay for them) , so to reiterate to our Loyal customers , fan base and community, we say -BLAM- you, thanks for paying.....we mean playing".

Ah, the power of preconceptions and the anger they often bring.

"Your an idiot." - Oh, the irony...

Honestly, for a game this good, I'm willing to pay face value for what I would get in a regular game. Firefight alone is reason enough to spend that much. Throw in Recon armour, 3 new maps, the invitation to the Halo: Reach Beta, and campaign itself, and you've got what I would consider a good price.

It was never officially advertised as a 20 to 40 dollars game. Kids whining about its' price are just idiots.

A thing about most idiots is that they believe most of what they read. It doesn't matter if it is official or not. In consequence you get a bunch of pissed off dumb asses that won't stop whining about a official price.

That sounds so good that it could become some sort of memorable quote!

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

93% of statistics are lies. Formerly Xfire Grunt. Unfortunately, you can't change the WLID for your BNET account, so I had to create an alternate account. My other WLID was spam city (and it was my e-mail account too).

Halo 3: ODST is only worth it if you didn't pick up Halo 3 + allt heamps already.

Otherwise you get 3 Maps + Firefight + Campaign. Campaign = 8 hours tops.

Where the -blam!- did you get 4 hours from. There is no way in Hell the game will be only 4 hours long. I beat we will spend more than 4 hours traveling the map in between missions.

a beta isn't something you buy you can't put halo reach beta into the price

isn't there anyway they can make a cheap one that just has
campaign
firefight
second mythic map codes

i don't really want to pay for content i already have basically

So what if you have to waste $10 on previously owned content

  • 06.04.2009 11:58 AM PDT

why are people pricing firefight like it's sperate content?
gears came with horde mode
halo 3 came with forge and theater

campaign and firefight- $30
mythic codes - $10

and just no second disc will be fine with me

so what? at what point does the amount i have to spend on something i have already bought become ridiculous to you? regardless of whatever it is that you think is ridiculous, some people have principles, and i for one am not on board with being forced to pay for content twice just so i can play the ODST campaign. this is all assuming that yours, and everyone elses crazy formulas for pricing out the game section by section is even remotely accurate.
