"You got killed by Force."

I REALLY REALLY hope this game falls in sync with that book.

It just has to. Does anyone know if Bungie is even talking to him?

Don't get your hopes up. Adapting one story from one media to another is tricky at best. For narrative and gameplay reasons things may change(heck we already got the confusion of the call sign numbers)

ODST Romeo

Bungie works with the Authors when it comes to making the books, so it's all in the same storyline.

That is so true, I loved the force unleashed story line, then read the book, guess what was better, thats right the book. I just hope that if this is an adaptation of that book, that they dont have too many disappointments.

"You got killed by Force."

At the very least, I hope they re-create memorable scenes from the book.

As appreciative 'nods' to Eric.

Star Wars? Before the prequel movies there was a bunch of novels that detailed the backstory and events that took place before the original trilogy...then the prequel trilogy came out and changed and poo'd on everything and made the books stories void.

Of course there is the original Star Trek series that got poo'd on and erased by the New movie.

Worse things have happened to bigger franchises in worse ways for lesser reasons.

Not many people even read the Fall of Reach to even notice or care anyways.

"Reason is Treason, but how is Philosophy Atrocity?"

?.

That was a "REALLY" good book, and along with Ghosts of Onyx created a deep Halo universe. Of course the game "falls in sync with" the book, but do we really want to revisit that? Maybe.

But hey, look at the circumstances of the game. If the pic is correct, it seems that it'll focus on interactions between or as different Spartans. We also have an invasion epic; this means that playing in catacombs beneath an ONI base isn't really capturing the full potential of the enviornment. Certainly we'll have Forunner tech, and there's another thing going for this.

Remember, Peter Jackson is still in contract to work on a game with Bungie, right? Hopefully this means a roaring tale full of giant battles (see Lord of the Rings films). This game is an FPS, but I still somehow don't think it's going to take Halo 3's place as a multiplayer game so soon after ODST renews it with it's second disc... it has to both play differently (yes, no equipment) and (if I'm right about Jackson) have giant, epic battles.

The sad transformation of this space shipyard to a land of the dead hopefully will touch on Nylund's book, but sanely, Bungie won't focus on that too much. Heck, they still need to add more Marathon references, right?

I actually am not a great fan of Fall of Reach. I read it, though.

Bungie is afraid to poke their own canon with a standard-issue 10-foot pole, so I tend to feel that they're going to avoid canon regions of gameplay wherever possible.

They might even have a fun little galaxy-long trip to a forerunner artifact we've never heard of, just so that they can avoid messing with canon. Wouldn't be the first time they decided to take that route, albeit for different reasons.

I hate you so much...

But not as much as I hate the internet.

It's what i'm hoping for, OP... a squad based FPS that i can send Kelly running a half mile ahead of the team to scout... it would be epic.

anything related to halo is based off of one thing the "Halo Bible"... No one really knows what the full thing entails but the Authors of the books were allowed glances of the golden covered, and blood spattered pages of this doctrine. Search it somewhere on here, I know i've read about it on B.net
