Subject: Halo3 = Reach ??

Hey, this is just a thought. I'm at work so I didn't alot of time to do research, but could it be possible that the planet at the end of Halo 3 is Reach?

I know it didn't look like a real planet but Reach was glassed. As far as I'm aware, not much in known about Reach after the good doctor left.

Thoughts?

no.
reach has been glassed. the surface is plane and even liquid at some areas now.
the planet at the end of H3 has lights, structures and stuff.

Oh I knows that for sure. I'm just thinking that some sort of "Halo 4" could come out of it...

No it doesn't

Reach has had almost a year to cool off though. The glass could cool, and winds and storm may have deformed the smooth surface.

fine. it's no longer magma and liquid dirt.

what do you think these light grey things in the dark of the planet are?
and at the end of the cutscene you CLEARLY see several blue lights turning on on the surface.

It's not Reach! This idea has been rolled out several times already. This is a CONFIRMED prequel to Halo 1.

I Love ODST. Nice game.

Posible but Halo: Reach is before Halo: CE.

Why dont they just make Halo 4 or have another game with Master Chief. I'm sorry but they just go side by side with each other.

KILL ANYTHING THAT MOVES. AND IF IT DOESNT MOVE, KILL IT ANYWAY.

The brutes have spilled my brother's blood and for that they must die!

Master Chief will most likely be in Reach he was trained there why do you assume he won't be if it is a prequal, which it is, then the chief has a 95% chance of being in it

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

I think based on the trailer, it's entirely possible. I thought along similar lines when the camera panned to the darkside of Reach. The city-structures did look a bit similar to the lights we saw in the Legendary ending of Halo 3.

Wasnt chief in the Pillar of Autumn during the battle of reach?

You be checking the files sharing yes? Good files yes.

Nope. Reach is nowhere near the third ring.

  • 06.04.2009 8:23 AM PDT

wtf

Doesn't anyone notice that the ending is only seen on Legendary? Meaning that planet could be Reach. That whole cutscene could have been a teaser for the game.

  • 06.04.2009 8:31 AM PDT

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

no, no, No, No, No, NO, NO NO!

This explains why the planets wouldnt be the same. They arent, simple as that

I don't think you get what some people are trying to say. The ship in the trailer is not FUD, thats obvious, but, what was the purpose of showing a planet at the end of the game like that, ONLY on the legendary ending? The showing of the planet, and the new reach trailer, lead people to believe that the scene was a slice of whats to come. The planet doesn't HAVE to be Reach for the scene to be a teaser for the game.

I agree.

What I'm suggesting it that this possibly COULD be Reach, after its been glassed (lets face it, no one knows what a glassed planet looks like from orbit at this point). Cortana doesn't know where they are, but she only has half of a ship; NAV system foobar'ed?

I'm sayign it COULD be Reach with no time travel. Maybe even some ODST were stranded & took cover underground & MC will join up & get the F out of there (NOT as the game Halo: Reach though)

  • 06.04.2009 3:51 PM PDT

Also those arguments suck because :

1. Bungie has said Halo & Marathon cannot coexist.
2. MC never touches the ground in the Battle of Reach to "save the day", & that guy hoping he does just shows how little he knows. Also, as we all know, Reach is pwned, so how could MC "save the day"?

*note: I do think it will be a very interesting game when you know the outcome, and the outcome is fail.

The Shadow League

I think the planet you see in the Legendary ending of Halo 3 is Onyx. Nobody knows man.

Cant be Onyx. It was destroyed at the end of the 4th book.
