I have been longing to be a video game designer since I was 14, now 24... I still have the same desire. My question is do you have to have extensive knowledge of C/C++ and or game or graphic design to work or get hired into the bungie department (forsay game tester)?
More so do I need a college degree, AS, BS, so on...? In computer science! I know that would make getting the job much easier and I know Microsoft / Bungie is well established enough to be picky as to who they hire ( aka the best of the best!) and why. Where you say its grueling sitting at a computer for 8 hours plus starring at code or trying to find a glitch, I find fun! I'm a nerd in that way and proud to say so! The mental reward for knowing you solved the problem is amazingly great! I have taken self teaching C+ coarses, html, and other simular computer related coarses, and when I go back to college had planed on persueing a degree in graphic or game design. If I could get a start on my desired field sooner though would be awesome...
I am also excited to see your next weeks article considering my artistic skills surpass anything else I am good at or would become good at... Basically saying my Specialty, is in ART! I have a very rare talent and want to put it to use. I say talent because it takes many people many years to have the artistic abuility I had when I was 14, and now 24 I far surpass that! Thanks Frankie and any helpful pointers on things I could do to be a future employee of Bungie would be much appreciated, like art portfolio and/or testing my computer abuilities!
