No forge was to limited give me a new map maker with the level design of a map maker and the normal forge editor to go through and make some changes.

A bit more use of point would make te post better to read, but i agree that it would be great to have a whole map editor.

Bungie already knows what we want in forge. Don't get ahead of yourself, we haven't seen anything about it yet besides the trailer.

Thnx for the awesome sig Smyf!

and now it is my duty to completely drain you

I would like it to be easier to use and more diverse. Bungie should add a snap to grid function so you can place objects at right angles or perfectly parallel to each other and eliminate gaps in your map without time consuming geomerging or overlapping. Also, a more diverse color pallet would be welcomed. This could be fixed by adding an array of blank maps like sandbox and foundry.

a delete all option

its gets anoying when i go into forge with my friend and we have to delete everything. i know i know save the map after we delete everything. we do that but it would be easier to have a delete all button

SLICE!

Putting in (and piloting) vehciles such as the Pelican and Phantom (though in this case, I guess it'd be the Spirit).

I like that idea it would make it a whole lot easier to forge then, because when i forge and i place like a barrel or something it always falls over and gets really anoying

  • 06.04.2009 1:09 PM PDT

Something like the Crysis map editor or something. Maybe a bit less complicated.

Phantoms were around during Reach.

UnitedBands.net

My band and artist networking/information site. Check it out!

Instead of having to download maps from bungie, or some person's fileshare, i think it would be cool, if there was a map library of some sort that contained all maps so you find and download the ones you want more easily.

On the new hundred dollar bill the time on the clock tower of Independence Hall is 4:10.

The Main Library at Indiana University sinks over an inch every year because when it was built, engineers failed to take into account the weight of all the books that would occupy the building. EPIC FAIL!!

'I agree. great idea. they should also add pelicans(which can be shot down), AA wraiths, one scarab(it can be killed), the purple sniper towers from campaign, be able to change the colors of the maps, vehicles, and scenerey, add Arbiter armor, ODST helmet, shoulders, and body armor, and add marine armor, changable skin tone/ eye color. This should also be added to halo 3's Forge mode on all maps except assembly, guargian, orbital, cold storage, MAYBE last resort and high ground and snowbound and the pit and narrows and construct and epitaph and other small, close quarters combat maps. all other maps, add those features for halo 3's forge mode. AND GIVE US THE FRUCKING RECONZ!!!! WE PAID ENOUGH FOR HALO 3!! AND NOW EVEN MORE WHEN WE FIND OUT..."oh...well...you need 2 werk at bungie or pay $60 more for one game to get one armor set" WTF BUNGIE I MEAN, I LUVZ BUNGIE, BUT SERIOUSLY GUYS, YOU JUST F'D YOURSELVES IN THE @$$!!!

thank you.

If they change the forge editor i would love these awsome functions:

An Undo feature, only undoes your last action.

Delete all, when in buy menu select object using x and select y to delete all on map.

A forge item where in-game it can change properties of items; example it is like a button that if pressed in a slayer game it spawns, deletes, or changes runtime minimums and maximums of a selected object: wouldn't it be nice so that you can make a sword spawn in the middle of the map at any time, anywhere? Or wouldn't it be nice on infection you can slam a door in a zombies face on fat kid? It would rock.

An additional map editing mode: Think of an etch-a-sketch drawing lines on a flat ground, then use a Google Sketchup sort of tool to pull walls up from the ground, adding functions for textures and property traits we could have a whole new ball game.

And everyone's want. BOTS! we all want some covenant to battle in multi player. Maybe we don't have Internet or XBL and need some extra buddies to fight, if we combine this with the above idea, we could make our own campaign style games.

Thinking of the above, maybe some game type editor were it really messes ppl up, like we replace goal objects with other objects, like we have to bring a crate full of goodies back to home base.

One other separate editor for multilayer,-> may be best for a future game <-: an editor where the player can create custom movements for the game, so instead of a regular hijack he would grab the fender of the vehicle, climb up and jab the driver with a knife. Or even a special user-made block for a defenseless attack. Think of it as a filler, if any bugs still get into the game the user could fill it in with his own counter attack.

These of course may be too far fetched but they would be awesome.

your thinking a search function for Bungie fileshare items? like here on Bungie.net, but incorporated in game.

BTW Bungie has Chuck Norris at their disposal.

Wait i just remembered by suggestion for halo 2, where people can dual wield a mounted turret and a hand held weapon. Say left hand is holding the turret while its mounted and right hand holding an SMG? Weapon spray on machine gun turret will lessen.

  • 06.04.2009 2:09 PM PDT

A actual map making editor. Instead of Halo 3's forge which is an existing map editor but I would like it so you can make a map by theme and all, including a mission maker sort of similar to Time splitters and Far Cry 2 combined.

  • 06.04.2009 2:15 PM PDT

Make it easier

  • 06.04.2009 3:44 PM PDT

Halo Reach PC über alles!

well actually having a map editor where you can put in practically ANYTHING seems a little useless for a console game when you are just adding new things to an existing map. It doesn't need to be that extreme. But I would like some creativity with the maps like say adding more decorative signs to increase the realism (also good for machinima) and some openable gates (like the ones on high ground). AND A 90 DEGREE SNAPPING FEATURE OF SOME KIND!

1) AI controlled enimies (turrets and stuff).
2) A "DELETE ALL" BUTTON FOR CHRISTS SAKE.
3) ttttttwwwwwwwoooooooo sky bubbles.
4) weather effects and time of day settings.
5) map creator (so you create terrain, bases, roads, etc, from scratch. Would be real easy too, just have a wide open flat space and create terrain using button options, then create things like trees, buildings, lakes, rivers, etc by slecting type (oak tree, palm tree), then changing its size and shape, then place it. use the weather and time effects to deepen the experience. use sliding bars to determine things like size.).
