Before you read... I am a Nintendo fan boy, a consumer whore, a giant Bungie fan and a professional hater of all things Sony.
My thoughts on the 360. Everyone has seen what M$ is putting in the 360. But I personally am not all interested on how fast the thing can pump out polygons, I'm looking for what playing it feels like. I own an Xbox and a GCN, I know what the 360 will have and have read plenty of speculation on Revolution. I am not the biggest fan of the analogue sticks. My friend had a problem where he ran at about 3/4 of my speed. He then bought a new controller and I ran at about 7/8 his speed... My GCN controllers have the same problem: analogue sticks deteriorate. I've seen the 360 controller and I see anologue sticks... also the trigger set up bears an uncanny resemblance to the PS2 (and probably the PS3 controller... Sony doesn't change over the generations, even the name: PS, PSone, PS2, PSP, PS3) However, many concepts for Revolution's controller feature touch pads and gyroscopic sensors (concepts also shows 6 controller "ports", 4 for the Revolution's wireless controllers and 2 for the old GCN's). I am looking foreward to 360 because it will kick ass but there are some things I would have liked to see that I didn't, mainly that the wireless adaptor is an additional charge.
And M$ never mentioned anything about backwards compatibility, now, if the 360 can't play Xbox games that would be the marketing equivalent of attacking a Scorpion tank after preforming the no-weapon glitch and putting your handicap to severe. I'm looking foreward to playing H2 on the 360 (no glitchy cinematics! ... I hope) I would also like to see memory transfer between Xbox and 360.
And for Halo 3, Bungie hasn't said anything BUT if M$ want's to take a bigger hit against Sony they would release the sequal to one of the current best selling console game series (when will a game top Super Mario Bros. 40 million copies? and 110 milion+ in the entire Mario series, just the Mario platform games... not Mario Kart (8 mil) or Mario Tennis, Golf, Party etc.) to compete. Bungie has also said they want to work on a non Halo game... and increased their staff significantly... two projects? Maybe... maybe not... I'm just speculating.
I would also love to see M$ and Nintendo cooperate to take down Sony... somthing like networkability between the two... I can dream. I hate Sony.
