Why does everyone think "Bungie lied"? They have done no such thing, when they said "Halo ODST is the end of the >HALO TRILOGY<" I think they meant that the Halo story is over because the halos and ark are all destroyed. NOT the actual series...
And the halo trilogy is still a trilogy.

technically, reach is in the trilogy ark of the halo games. it happens like a hour before HCE... so they did lie.

Trilogy means three. With halo: reach there is now four. So technically they didn't lie.

Yes. The original Halo plotline is over, they will still make similar Halo games just with a different main character and setting.

Hi! <3

First off, Halo: Reach would not be part of the trilogy. Just as Phantom Menace was not part of the original Star Wars trilogy.

Secondly, I have no idea why people are so worried about whether or not Bungie "lied". Just be excited for the games for crying out loud.

bangs head. NOOOOOoooooooo duuurrrrrrrr. They basically kept making another FPS with the halo universe sound as unlikely as possible, by not technically saying it, even tho its what every one wanted, but too many sad acts had to keep saying "there will be no halo 4", which while technically true, it is at the same time false, it just wont be called halo 4.

An hour before Halo CE how about like a day, and it has nothing to do with the actual trilogy of stopping the Covenant from firing the rings. So they didn't lie. Fact just proven.

I was just posting this for all the people who keep posting threads of it over and over again... No harshness was needed.

i didnt get that impression. Actually i got a strong affirmation/nod to the fact that games featured in the halo universe would continue.

I thought I remember Bungie saying that this is their last Halo project or something like their other project is NOT Halo-related...I might not remember correctly but I was pretty sure I heard that somewhere!

well wheres your proof?? quote it/link it.

i dont care much for interpretations or word of mouth. considering most of these forums are filled with 12year olds who think they understand the concept of nothing.

This is absolutely false. The Fall of Reach started about three weeks before the beginning of Halo 1.
*calculates*
Yes, 19 days pass between the covenant attack in the book (August 30th, 2552 - Military Calendar) and the opening of Halo 1 (September 19th, 2552 - Military Calendar).

The UNSC Pillar of Autumn was in slip space during this time period.
