Subject: Possible ODST Vehicle

Hey! Listen! HEY!- The words of Navi

I have a mock-up of what I believe this will look like. Buck on a Mammoth As you can see, compared to Buck, these Woolly Mammoths are quite large in size.

Cant wait to ride it!

I'm going to invade your heart like a barn swallow high on milk chocolate and grandma love.

Fairness is only possible within the limited powers of man. Elsewhere, there is only chance.

Thus I refute thee.

Uh...

Ha! Quite epic. I'm pretty sure Bungie won't go as far as that, but it is also a little taste of things to come.

Ohai, I'm Loscocco (pronounced Loss-cocoa). I'm a college student (computer science major), 3D animator, and long-time Halo player.

You cant clone what is extinct....

I think that the Mammoth could be a vehicle....not an actual mamoth.... Probably like a faster elephant or something?

what??? noo mammoth.

"Riding around on elephants" is like riding around IN an Elephant - those huge vehicles from Halo 3.

It's a perfect vehicle for a game like this, where troop transport and assault go hand-in-hand.

  • 06.04.2009 1:58 PM PDT

I think that its more likely there will be something similar to the actual elephant really. I mean...riding creatures? I doubt it. And in this case, DOUBT means REALLY REALLY DOUBT. It would be cool though to have civilian vehicles, like the police car in the demo that would be driveable.

You can clone it if you have DNA. Frozen Remains have been found multiple times with intact tissue. Scientists believe you could in fact remove this DNA and inject it into a modern Elephant embryo and possibly "grow" a Mammoth from it.

Per Audacia Ad Astra

The new vehicle should be called a 'Puma' and look like this, but the wheels and front of the vehicle would be very different.

I have found a hole in my theory and posted it in my OP.

EDIT: I have found a possible hole in my theory. Upon further research, I have found that Mammoths are more closely related to Asian Elephants. This poses the question: "What is an Asian Elephant doing in Africa?". I will further investigate this conundrum and and post my findings.
I will try to find some more evidence that supports my theory.

  • 06.04.2009 2:24 PM PDT

After even further investigation, I have found that Asian Elephants exist on other continents, so it is very possible for them to be in Africa.

Noobs can't handle AR/Pistol Spawns.

I can see ODST riding on the actual Elephant. That would be cool to have in campaign.
