I love Team Fortress and Halo and CoD. When you combine the game I stop liking it. Keep it original. Keep it itself.

I doubt they'll make you stay to one class in matchmaking?! The maps from what I've seen from E3 are huge! On the contrary you might not control other classes they might just be characters that are in the story. You might end up being one class but can use all weapons.

I dont think a class system would work well in a halo game.

It would be like, "hey, they are controlling that hill in the middle of the map, lets all switch to the sniper class and get them real quick" or "they are owning us, lets all switch to whichever class has rockets." Map and most importantly weapon control would go down the drain. Instead of fighting for a power weapon you can just spawn with it and get to work.

It would be incredibly anti-halo, imo. The gameplay would be limited to what class you choose, and i have no clue what would happen to covenant weapons.

I play halo because i want to play halo, this isnt CoD, TF2, or any other game. This is halo. A class system would change the way halo plays so much, it just wouldnt be halo anymore. Im not saying keep everything the same from the older games, but im saying dont break the halo formula that has worked so well all this time.

A class system would just be a different way to experience Halo. Why should the Halo series be restricted to a specific style of gameplay? If you want to play a traditional game of Halo mp just pop in Halo 3, formula intact and problem solved. Why is it so unheard of for Halo:Reach, which is technically a different title all its own, to offer a unique but equally satisfying MP experience? This was never meant to be Halo 3.5 or Halo 4 and the sooner everyone comes to terms with this the more open minded we can become once Bungie finally makes it known as to what kind of FPS this game is going to be.

Then a class system would be extremely anti-halo. I dont think it could work well at all in a halo game.

If you want a classed based shooter, play a class based shooter. If you want halo, play halo.

I agree, this halo will be different. to actually find out if it is class based mp we'll just have to wait for the beta with halo 3:ODST.

Class based systems work just fine in games like TF2, COD and Battlefield. If it was as easy as just having every team member selecting one particular class and owning everyone then these games would have failed a long time ago. Bungie has shown that they can produce a quality product so I have no doubt that if they do decide to make Reach a class based FPS that it will have much more to offer in terms of a quality MP experience than those other titles that you've mentioned.

owning noobs with my ninja skills since, well, forever.

I say mix things up a bit with Halo, It would refresh things I would think. No offense to anyone, but Halo's MP is starting to get a little stale. We've been essentially doing the same thing since Halo 1 in varying degrees. Why not do something new.

Classes work just fine in franchises that (as far as i know) were always class based. Halo isnt designed in this way, never has been.

Dont take a working, successful formula and completely change it just because it would be different, or more like another game. Now, im sure Bungie could produce a top notch class based shooter, theres no denying that. But keep it the hell away from Halo. I play the halo franchise for the halo gameplay, just as i play CoD for CoD gameplay. No other game has ever came close to matching the type of gameplay the halo franchise has offered. If you want classes, play a classed based game. But a halo game with classes wouldnt feel like halo at all.

Im not saying keep everything exactly the same, but the formula should be built upon and improved, not rewritten.

Thats just my thoughts, atleast. Maybe i just dont like the thought of halo being changed so much.

it's a new game why because it's just halo it shouldn't have a new gameplay feature?

Clearly because the desktop uses a 3 prong plug and a laptop uses a 2 prong plug, the microwave will fill your car with tostitos better

why not ? classes are good it's also somting new to the halo series.

Oh god I hope not.

CoD4, WaW, and MW2 are all class based shooters.

I guarentee you CoD4 would blow a Halo class based shooter out of the water, let alone the new one that's coming out, and I hate CoD.

It's a new HALO game. Halo fans love halo because its halo, its obviously not doing bad, why change it?

Halo Wars tried changing things, and look where that ended up. Not even in the top 10 live activity charts now. (No offense to halo wars fans :P)

Halo should stay as halo. Just like a class based shooter should stay as a class based shooter. Bungie could completely reinvent class based shooters, im sure of that, but for the halo fans sake, dont do it to halo. Do it to another franchise.

Just my two pennies.
