shoverion it's not like it takes a -blam!-load of resources. Hell, if Treyarch can do it then why can't Bungie? This if -blam!- Treyarch we are talking about. A 3rd rate developer mouching off top tier, cream of the crop franchises is able to do something a genre defining developer can't nor won't.
Bungie won't do this with custom games and has never done because it would make matchmaking pointless. They won't do it for four player coop because the campain is not where the money is at. They won't put it in Firefight because they simply won't put the resources into it because they are lazy and use a -blam!- bull-blam!- excuse like "we have a tight schedule". Don't -blam!- bull-blam!- me, you could have delayed it until it was ready, it's not like we have a shortage of games at are disposal. If they don't want to put the effort into it then they shouldn't have put it in at all. Firefight without matchmaking is pratically pointless because
1.if you die you only get one life back at the end instead of four meaning you have a much harder chance to complete a good number of sets before being wiped.
2. It is much harder due to it not being scaled based on the number of players present.
I know this is a team based mode but if you can't get guys to play *especially when they are playing MW2* then it is not nearly as enjoyable as it should.
This is the only problem with ODST. I don't mind the Halo 3 complete multiplayer even if I have all the maps and I don't mind the single players length because it is the best SP campaign I have played this year. The firefight matchmaking is the only thing that pisses me off.
OK, I'm not picking on you specifically, Ragnarok. I'm just suprised that after all this time people are still arguing this point (beating this dead horse).
ODST is not and was never meant to be a flagship game. Bungie knew from the start that the success or failure of ODST was not going to significantly effect the Halo franchise. It has had little effect on Halo3 Multiplayer and Reach will dominate everything. ODST is nothing more than a gift for Halo fans. You play it with your friends. Period. They're putting all their expertise and resources into Reach, and when it comes out you will forget all about ODST. This forum will drop off to nothing.
If you (not you specifically, Ragnarok)are upset because you belive you paid too much, I'm sorry. Bungie made it clear well before release that there would be no matchmaking and I'm pretty sure what they meant was that there would never, ever, be any matchmaking. There was no point at release, and with Reach coming out this fall, there's no point since ODST will probably be dead anyway.
