Totally. Most of time, you won't be able to get 3 friends who want to play it.

Yeah, since Halo 3 is the top played Live game again it's really hard to find 3 players. Maybe you just need more friends.

Whoa, calm down. Not all of us populate our friend lists with random people we've met on Xbox Live. And regardless of how many friends you have, it's not like you're always going to be able to find three who want to play Firefight all the time.

I don't populate my friends list with randoms and I was just pointing out that there are more people playing Halo 3 at any given time than any other game out there.

Never thought I'd see a Mythic Member flame someone.

Am I supposed to be nice? And it wasn't flaming, I was just stating that he/she should find a couple other people to play with.

You see? That's the thing. That's not all that easy to do. What if no one wants to play. What if you're like me, living in a completely different timezone than most of the world. I'll never be able to play Firefight if there isn't matchmaking. Its an option. Use it if you want.

And not all those people are my friends. The vast majority of my friends dislike Halo for some unknown reason and hardly ever play it. Most don't even own it. The rest simply prefer playing other games instead of Halo. Since I typically don't add randoms to my friends list, this leaves me with no options to play Firefight besides Matchmaking or two player splitscreen.

Or you can come on here, and post to find 3 people to play with, then if you become friends with them, you expand your friend list and so on. Trust me, it's how I made friends when I first got live for Halo 2. I didn't use matchmaking to make friends, I used the Bungie forums.

You should know that not everyone that plays Halo 3 goes on here, thereby alienating them from having the same experience from others. And what harm would there be in having a matchmaking? If it's there, no one is forcing you to use it.

I'm just trying to help everyone out, because I guarantee there won't be matchmaking for it.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

really if it doesnt have a matchmaking were paying £40 or `$60 for a campaign a mode that we need freinds with it and who want to play just to have fun and 3 new maps. for a £40 game they cant just give us the same online mode with we allready have they should really give matchmaking in firefight if not campaign aswell or there just basicly riping evryone off here.

Non-Playable Charater

Without Matchmaking, Firefight will be rare experience at its best for me, just like good times in Campaign.

While I'd be open to trying your solution if they don't implement matchmaking, it doesn't mean that they shouldn't. As someone stated above, it is a $60 game. Also, matchmaking is just so much more convenient. And while I would much rather play with my friends than randoms, sometimes there's just no alternative, Halo 3 forum or no.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Not completly true, Firefight has a stats system to see who gets farther and survives the longest and most enemys killed, ect. Alot of people would be playing Firefight with friends online and playing seriusly, then of course if you play Firefight with ramdom people, im sure your not taking it seriusly, so i wouldint end up having no fun, i actually might, watching my stupid teammates dying stupidly, if i wanted to play it for real id call up some friends(your bound to have some) and get cracka-lackin :D

Yeah what he said. For the first 6 months it might be easy to find a couple of buds to play, but once the hype dies down, finding 3 others to play might be a little hard.

But you also have to look at it like this. Jumping into MM with Firefight, could be like sucide. You get matched with 3 others that suck, and then your game is ruined.

Holy Cow, I would love to see this! I'd also like to see ODST Matchmaking (ie, play as ODST in gametypes such as CTF and Slayer.)

Normal Halo 3 matchmaking is a gamble in and of itself if you go in alone. If you get stuck with three idiots in team slayer, you avoid them and move on. Same with Firefight. Also, if you're just concerned about your stats, maybe you should rethink why you play Halo...
