Looks like i will be returning this POS game. None of my friends got it, and it looks like i cannot make friends on it.... too bad. Back to COD i guess.

Way to think ahead bungie. who makes a game these days without some sort of matchmaking?

I was actually expecting to have a form of matchmaking for Firefight. When I logged on and found out there wasn't, I was pretty dissapointed. It ruined Firefight for me, personally.

ODST was a waste of money in my opinion, I regret buying the game.

I wouldn't want MatchMaking, because you could get 3 really good people on your team, and then one person just totally sucks and can ruin your game. Plus you get people from all over the world playing, and then your game would get really laggy.

I like the current way, invite is cool.

Halo 3 is my first FPS multilayer, at first i was like 0.1 k/d, but now every game i play is +20 carnage. Practice is key my fellow gamers.

no one saying that the invite option is bad, WE'RE ASKING TO MAKE THAT OPTION AVAILABLE. YOU don't have to use it, casual gamers on the other hand can actually play normally. (seriously how many of the online gamers go on forums to look for team mates, only pros that's who. the other 99% of the halo community are a bunch of noobs who run around on the map waiting to get sniped, and never heard of a team mate-forum.)

didnt think cuase there will be retards out there that will sit there and kill themselves or betray their teammates

404 error please try again later.

hell yeah

honestly, no really, honestly?. you can betray your team mates in halo 3, how often does that happen, since 90% of the halo 3 playlist are team based games?

if there were a matchmaking, half of the games you get in someone would quit. if that didnt end the game it might b cool sometimes. but it does. so its not cool.

they should patch that if 1 player leaves the others can go on. take some notes from GOW2. honestly how hard is it code matchmaking, they already made the system in halo2/3.
-Halo ODST was mostly cut and paste from halo 3.

I make a legitimate thread on the most logical choice for the next Bond actor, and you take that away from me by creating a parody thread indirectly connecting my thread to yours.

I hope your kids have bad influences and develop bad personalities. I wish this with all my heart.

Here's to hoping Bungie does it in Reach.

Yea considering that reach is supposed to be on a different engine which means they just have to make the code not drastically rewrite one. Either way I could care less.

Happy face most of the time :D

Firefight would have absolutely needed matchmaking. Now when firefight doesn't have it, everybody is searching Halo 3 matchmaking for people to play with ODST and to get with Endure and Déjà vu achievements. I don't have so much friends who would have ODST so matchmaking would have been very nice. But can't complain... what's done is done.

yes and they should also put flood in firefight :D

  • 11.01.2009 9:12 AM PDT

What they should do is open up a social matchmaking for fire fight and then an endure firefight for matchmaking so that everyone that seriously wants the achievement can go there and leave the casual gamers in social. Problem solved.

..or have some kind of functionality in Halo Waypoint where you can find gamertags that want a match...?

Honestly, why does Xbox Live have the Community 'Co-op' nights when its just with the limited people you may have on your friend list(which for me, includes 1-3 people who may be online with OTHER GAMES). Thats not really including the community is it?

its understandable now why they cannot do it. hopefully this will stop everyone making threads "i want FFMM plzzz"

anyway if it were made into a MM lobby then it wouldnt be any different for me apart from getting a garrenteed 4 players. But there should not be a lave option and the game should end it some one quits, that jus means more lives and ammo for the rest of the team.

  • 11.04.2009 11:14 PM PDT

that actually seems like a pretty good idea. firefight in matchmaking. there would be downs for ppl that want good teammates they know, but that would be the whole point of doing it from matchmaking

  • 11.05.2009 3:42 PM PDT

There are FOUR LIGHTS.

I also thought that Firefight was MM, the fact that it is not ruined it for me. The campaign is awesome, but I bought it FOR MM Firefight, the same reason I bought GoW2. There should be an option for MM, not mandatory, but THERE for those of us who have no friends with it, or friends on different time zones.

Yes of course!!! Make matchmaking for campaign and firefight and everything. I think that it would boost the playability for Halo campaign and firefight. I love the idea!

  • 11.08.2009 3:50 PM PDT

If you asked me on day one I would've said yes. But now I'd say no.

Matchmaking for Firefight would to create an imbalanced risk for people dropping out mid game. Better to firefight with folks from your Friends List.
---------------------------------------------------------------

I understand your position but you're talking about a minority issue. Yes there is quitting, yes there is betraying, and yes there is the annoying kid who rambos into the battle and gets pwned like the noob he is and hurts the team. WE KNOW THIS BUT THAT IS NOT THE POINT! If these issues really hurt you then you should stop playing online games in general and stay with single player games. The majority of matches or survival modes are not bad. It's a hell of a lot better then not having it at all. If you don't like it fine...you don't have to use it. The point is.

WHY ALIENATE 90% OF THE USERS WHO WOULD USE THIS TO CATER TO THE 10% THAT DON'T USE IT BUT DON'T GIVE A -blam!- ABOUT IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

My friend's list is different. They all have the game but I never get a chance due to time zone differences or they are busy with other games (COD). Since I have no one to play with this means that I won't enjoy the full experience of firefight because the developers were being lazy. Admit it Bungie is being lazy.

1.They don't have matchmaking for custom games
2.They don't have matchmaking for Online Coop
3.They don't have it for Firefight.

Epic games has no problem putting matchmaking into their games.
Infinity ward has no problem putting matchmaking into their games.
Hell -blam!- Treyarch can do it. TREYARCH!

You mean to tell me after eight years of developing this franchise they couldn't put a feature that is now a standard. Bungie created a new standard for FPSs eight years ago and now they are falling behind. ODSTs Single player is a masterpiece and I am glad they packaged the complete Halo 3 multiplayer experience (even if I have all the content). But Firefight is unplayable unless you have 3 to 4 players and with new releases around the corner nobody is playing it as much as it could have if it did. It's legs were chopped off without this feature.

Bungie -blam!- up big time, they have done it with custom games (I use to play this a lot in Halo 2 but now I never play it. Hell I only have 50 games in customs since it came out) but unlike Halo 2 there is stiff competition from Gears of War and Call of Duty. Everyone played Halo 2 back then and that is it. Bungie needs to step up to the plate if it wants to stay on top but seeing their track record (Custom games, online coop, and now firefight) I doubt Bungie will implement these features because they are stubborn. I love Halo but as a gamer as features become standard my expectations in a developer is higher. If Bungie doesn't fix it then I have lost my respect to them. Four major games and still exclude an important feature isn't technical issues, it's -blam!- laziness.

TLDR: Bungie is lazy
