I wasn't aware that being mute, pretending to be tough and being unable to remove a helmet made you the perfect candidate for being a Spartan.

I thought you had to be 6 years old and show a sign of potential and determination, then go through years of harsh training and augmentation.

He's a silent protagonist during gameplay. All silent protagonists share the underlying tough guy/mysterious thing. Gordon Freeman form Half-Life or Samus from Metroid are the same.

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

That's the point behind Bungie's main characters. They let you use your imagination as to what they look like and how they act. It lets you place yourself in their shoes. I believe that is the reason people love MC so much.

Maybe he was listening to it but then got tired? Also did you notice how he was already set to go? He slept in his Drop Pod.

Yes, why, he is allways calm and never talks at all!

There is only one explanation for this! Why, the Rookie must be...

.... Gordon Freeman!!

Heh, calm down, eh?

I'm just messing around. Why do people always take me so srsly? Does no-one read my signature's disclaimer?

Anyway, yeah, the biggest reason the Rookie needs to act like the Chief (you know, the strong silent type) is so that the player can create his own personality for him and then relate.

Remember Reach!

Posted by: SX P a n d a
its to make the player feel more like they are the character.

Yep, you are meant to project yourself onto the blank slate... It's the same way that you can feel like you are Master Chief... The only time when you aren't MC is during cut scenes!

Don't beg for things, do it yourself or else you won't get anything.

If you go by the books, Master Cheif is PALE, White, Brown eyed, Pasty, Ginger. Probably from being in that suit to much.

Snakie Purple.

"Hamdog, Hamdog, Hamdog, Hamdog"-Hamdog.

Twatter

Maybe he's just a little sleepy? I would be trying to get some sleep before a mission.

5 years later MC sez: Can't breathe Ha ha ...... *Thud* Falls and dies XD.

"When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons! What am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give EL1TE SUPR3MACY lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

He's "The Rookie", the new guy. If he didn't act tough he would get a tough time from his squad members, like a High school Freshman.
