Why is alot people sugesting that master chief went back in time at the end of halo 3? even if he did, then it would have already happend in the curent timelines past. People would have already seen him, and found him, so master chief whould have obviously saw it coming!

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

I know. It's the most stupid theory to have popped up yet. Reach has NOTHING to do with the legendary ending planet on halo 3.

Its hilarious how some people are soooooo hard headed.

Master Chief, As smart as he is, He wouldn't go fight with himself. He would be fighting somewhere else or giving "Under the Table" information to the UNSC about the Covenant.

and no caps.

But the other ship whould obviously have seen a humungus half of a ship floating that close to an important military planet, and how would you suppose that he would get out of it anyways

I still think it could be Reach. Just with no time travel. Reach AFTER its been glassed... Maybe some Marines get left behind & take cover underground at the end of this new game (Halo: Reach).

Otherwise You'd be a marine who dies, or a Spartan who escapes with the good doctor

My Grunty claws will STING!

He's gone, thank the nipple!

I partially agree. I think there is no way there is time travel, but this must be the game referenced in the Legendary ending. Otherwise, Bungie is making another Halo (not a bad thing!). The books say Reach was not completely glassed, and so maybe you survive on Reach as another Spartan, and then the MC shows up. Just a theory of course...

If the planet was Reach, then Cortana would have known right away. Therefore she wouldn't have said,"I'll drop a beacon, but it'll be a while before anyone finds us; years even." Reach is a colony close to Earth.

yea. these couple marines could recolonize the whole planet in a year or so. very plausible indeed.
the planet has STRUCTURES on it, and if it had been glassed, the surface would be plane.

I dont think time travel was involved, but IT IS POSSIBLE. remember the crystal shard in slipspace? slowed down time & they made super fast jumps. & that wasn't even with the whole thing.

Also STRUCTURES could be glassed mountians. Get over you structures.

  • 06.04.2009 5:06 PM PDT

As for dropping a becon, the NAV system may have been shot due to half the ship missing.

UPDATE: I watched the ending again. I saw no lights or structures. Nothing more than a stars reflection off of something that isnt dirt

Time travel would be stupid. It would ruin the campain story of both halos 1, 2, and 3.

Agreed. but it is remotely possibly, however retarded it may be.

So no time travel is possable....i think...

  • 06.05.2009 7:00 PM PDT

Viva La Revolution!
Social Infection ftw

Besides, why would Bungie make MC go back to reach?

1. Reach is too clost to earth to be the mysterious planet.

2. MC already went there and rescued Dr. Halsey, Admiral Whitcomb and the surviving spartans.

3. Arbiter could've made s search party after returning to Sanghelios, and with their advanced Technology i'm sure they would be able to find MC.

Uh I'm a bit of a noob, what's an "Achronos"?

Nintenman7: Apply yourself... Seggi31: HHHHNNNNNNGGGGG

Travel through Slipstream Space or Slipspace has been known to cause Time Issues. It is very possible that Master Chief traveled through time to Reach shortly before it was glassed, or possibly even before it was discovered. It seems slightly unreasonable that it be Reach that Master Chief landed on at the end of Halo 3, but it's possible. Cortana obviously didn't know it was there, since she would have altered the course of our good frigate and prepared for emergency landing. It is possible that, when Reach was glassed, all communications to and from Reach were stopped. The planet shown at the end of Halo 3, however, did not look glassed to me. I'll have to watch it again, and we'll start a new topic in the Halo 3 section about the legendary Halo 3 ending...

I kick ass and make headshots, and I'm all out of ass.

I don't know, I'd like a time travel thing. Those plots are usually fun. Even if it invalidates the other halos, I think bungie would do a good job with a time travel story.

Maybe I like time travel because I'm a trekkie.

-Blam!- dude, I got some serious rusty water from the pork...

*As we were leaving a resteraunt in Hawaii. Imagine the look on the peoples faces who were going in*

I think something will happen at the end of this game that we didn't know that could set up for the Chief landing on Reach, but not necessarily back in time.

SIP FTW awesomesauce

Maybe Chief runs into the forerunners on Reach If he did time travel.

i would just like to add that the planet seen in the legendary ending is the same planet u see wen u look up in the sky during the final run and the same planet that u see int he hologram on the level The Ark when Spark says something but gets cut off by the Phantom (im sure u kno wat im talkin about).

it is not Reach.
