Poll: How many people actually want this game to have online.  [closed]
No, it will completly replace Halo 3's:  7%
(9 Votes)
Yes, Halo 3's online is washed up:  25%
(31 Votes)
Yes, but I dont think it means the end of H3 onlin:  67%
(82 Votes)
Total Votes: 122

So, their is goign to be a Beta for this game when you buy ODST(which I am buying) which means that Halo Reach is going to have some new online muliplayer. Out of curiosity, how many people actually want this game to have online? Im asking this question becuase chances are if this game does have online multiplayer thier will no longer be any support for Halo 3 online, no more new maps, no more playlists no more anything and anything you've earned in Halo 3 really wont mean anything any more.

Not really now that you say so. Every FPS seems to have some form of multiplayer now. It's starting to become really generic. I can't tell you the number of deathmatch scenarios I've played over the years, or the gametypes I've played over the years from different games. Then we have COD's play style as the most dominant seeing how it's the most newbie friendly, and it's still competitive, fun and fast paced, despite feeling like the most polished version of generic game play with military guns I've used in other games playing near the same. So soon enough everyone is going to copy Infinity Ward's style of play.

That's probably why people don't like Halo 3. It's very balanced, but due to that balance it's slow paced, and slow paced shooters like the traditional Rainbow Six, and Ghost Recon have been eliminated. Not to mention it's slower than Halo CE and Halo 2. Which isn't good for older fans.

I'm really in the mood for a good long campaign with developers using resources for campaigns instead of multiplayer.

Although Halo 3: ODST has no competitive multiplayer a-la Halo 3, it does have the online mode Firefight, which is played as an ODST. Read the front page.

Why would the be an online beta..if the game had no multiplayer?

  • 06.04.2009 5:35 PM PDT

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

Yes, I'm glad there is going to be new multriplayer. It's cool to switch it up and after nearly 3 years (because Reach is out sometime in 2010), it'll be a welcome change.

I also don't believe Halo 3 online will not be completely phased out. I'd guess they'll support it lightly for a while.

Signatures are for squares.

New Halo multiplayer>Old Halo multiplayer. We saw it happen to Halo 2, it's almost Halo 3s turn.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

There is really no way to know how it wll effect Halo3's MM. C'mon now the game doesn't come out until sometime in 2010, Halo3 may be 3 years old by the time that Reach comes out. After that long I'm sure people are going to be looking forward for something new, especially since this last batch of maps are supposedly it for Halo3.

Except nobody is talking about ODST, dumbass.

Once in a while somebody makes a mistake and has no idea what forum he is on. But you decided that was not okay, sorry for wasting your time

Anyways, Halo: Reach (Sorry everybody else, rofl.) does have mutliplayer, and is definitely not an expansion. Not that I have any evidence to back that up, except for the inference that a multiplayer beta normally means a game will have multiplayer. And normally, expansion packs don't have a public multiplayer beta (From Bungie anyways.).

Who cares, moving on to bigger and better things is a good thing. Halo 3 is old now.

  • 06.04.2009 5:44 PM PDT

Why the hell would it matter if it did replace Halo 3 online? Thats the whole point of a sequel, to improve and expand upon its older counterpart. And people would obviously go for it, if its ''the cool new thing that the kids are doing''.

Dont worry Bungie stated (cant find the link) that they will probably continue to make new Maps and update the online Multiplayer frequently

and im getting sick of Halo 3 its been out for 2 years. i cant wait for halo odst and halo reach =P

add a horn that says "!%*@ BILL O' REILLY" in Austin Powers' voice, and
I like how if anyone ever says a nice thing about Bungie people think all they want is Recon, and if someone says something bad about Bungie people join with them. And then after they get done bagging on Bungie, they go play the game that Bungie made

You do realize that Halo 2 is still online, right?

You also realize this game will be coming out in 2010, right?

Halo 2? Things change and evolve over time. It will continue that way long after you, I, Halo 3 and Halo Reach. Roll with it.

Why doesn't this poll just have "Yes" and "No" people always make ineffective polls like this.

Personally i would much rather it be online only. I've had way too much fun speculating on the SPARTANS at reach, making my own character for the story line, and speculating wildly at all the different anomalies. It would ruin the fun, but i suppose i could always change my GamerTag. :)

Why do you say this like it is a bad thing? By 2010, we Halo players will want a totally new gameplay experience with better features, graphics, and gameplay elements. Bungie can't keep milking Halo 3 forever. Halo 3's multiplayer has done a phenomenal job of lasting as long as it has, but by the time Reach arrives, we will all want something new.

no duh i realise this but it has no knew maps, almost no one plays it anymore, and thier is no more support/playlists, thats my argument the same thing will happen here

I don't think that Halo: Reach is going to be the end of Halo 3's multiplayer. First off bungie is still supporting Halo 3 especially considering that there is still more maps to come out. I also think that although Halo: Reach is an FPS, I feel that it will be a different style of gameplay, and so they will both coexsist.

Yes even without Reach, Halo 3's multiplayer would go down down down because people get bored of doing the same thing with the exact same features repeatedly whenever

Stop crying and move on

Halo 3's Multiplayer is going bye bye come Fall 2010 Retard.

Even with Reach coming out I think Halo 3's MM can hold out for a bit. Even if it doesn't, it was only a matter of time until it died out.
