That better not be incorporated into Halo. It looks like good things can come from Natal but not for Halo

As they say, 'beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.'

In no way am I trying to say that Bungie will make Halo: Reach only work with Natal, to where you have to run around whatver space you have you box setup in, throw your arm out lobbing grenades, or get leg cramps jumping around like a crazy man.

What I am saying is that, from what we have seen, Natal is an extremely powerful and complex system, and I'm sure M$ didn't unveil all that it has to offer. I'm just trying to spark conversation on how they could be combined.

What *CAN* Natal bring to the table for Halo: Reach to make it a better game, based on what we know about Natal and its feature set?

Exactly man, I said earlier that Bungie would not ruin the Halo series. They'll only incorporate features if they are worth while, and if they will get more customers. I definitely think we'll be seeing some of Natal's features offered optionally, but not all of them.

Time flies like an arrow; fruits flies like a banana.

I want my controller back.

Besides if the beta is happening within a year it would be too early anyway.
Yeah, this Project Natal was just announced. Bungie is probably too far into development of Reach to go in this kind of direction even if they wanted to.

My biggest concern really is say we wanted to turn our spartan or Elite to the right. How would that work while letting us continue to look at the TV, and not at a wall or window.

Does anyone even read these?

I guess it'll be something to experiment with.

I would love to play the campaign Metroid Prime Corruption style, but I can't see any way to do that with Natal.

It would be like a controller, when you want to turn all the way to the right, you dont have to push the thumbstick 180degs to the right, right? You just push it and when your looking the in the right diraction you let go. When you want to turn right, you'ld turn, say, fifteen degrees right and the character will do that and, if you don't revert back to the origional position, it will keep turning right until you do. Same with forward, you wont keep running towards the screen and hope that the tv falling ontop of you doesn't hurt that much, you'ld take a few steps forward and the character will keep moving forward until you revert back to the position you were in at the beginning.

Sounds like a cool game to play......I just dont ever want to play halo that way

HELL NO

That will ruin halo, plus you don't even have space to run in your house, NO NONONONONONONONNONONON!!!!!

  • 06.10.2009 3:14 AM PDT

The device has been modified....

Project Natal and T-bagging have a perfect relationship XD

I think that Natal could work with Reach and it would be even better if you get a replica Halo gun to aim and fire with (maybe with a joystick for movement and buttons for swaping weapons) but I'd much rather use a controller for FPS games. I still think that Natal has huge potential though and can't wait to try it out =D

Yes, really

i think PN is going to fail miserably. the technology needed for what they wanna do just isnt quite here yet. i mean, heat sensors to detect the movement of every joint in your body? or being able to tell which arm belongs to who if they over-lap? not to mention heat sensors, voice recognition, face recognition, and tracking hundreds of floating points a second, all at the same time is bound to cause problems.

  • 06.10.2009 5:30 AM PDT

ANY VENUE I WILL END YOU

How would you run around a map without a controller ?.

  • 06.10.2009 6:01 AM PDT

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Until we are sleeping in pods connected to our brains that project the very game into our imagination, I refuse to play Halo on anything BUT the Controller.

I personally don't feel that this type of thing is usefull in the competitive gaming world. Shooters, sports, action and serious RPG games are too high demanding to rely solely upon motion control. I doubt this will be the case.

Besides if the beta is happening within a year it would be too early anyway.

To early and they wont make every one go buy a sensor bar thing to play the game or the beta

Spartan costume and BR included oh yeah

Woot to that!

  • 06.10.2009 7:01 AM PDT

IM A LEGIT 16

I doubt they'll actually put it in the game, but a training mode or something would be cool.
You know, like a small mission used with Natal to see how people react to it.

That'd be good, since they aren't risking a game, just an optional level.

project natal is da $H!*...i think it would be stupid to put a FPS on natal though...it would be better, cooler movements, more interactive, but not enough wireless sensitivity for the "trigger finger"....i think the only way they could do it is to make JUST a trigger to hold....if you move your arm like your throwing something, thats the grenade, and considering how hard you throw, thats how far it goes....adds a little more excitement to the halo games...they could also make the game for 360 or put an optional controller for the natel............and if thats not possible, nobody sell your 360's, you will need them for first person shooters you buy.......................................................and just to add...in odst, ...bungie... (if your reading this)...you kinda copied treyarch's notzie zombies for call of duty WAW with your "fire" mode (i think thats it i forgot the name)...............I LIKE IT you just outran treyarch right there @#!$^%&*!!!

Ok, I'm sure everyone has seen the videos for project natal, if not... here are a few links:

Games being played
E3 Demo

Would it be plausible to inlcude that technology into a Halo game?

Thoughts and opinions?

[Edit:]
I no way am I saying that Halo: Reach should be played without a controller,. I think we all feel that would be somewhat absurd for a Halo game, or any FPS for that matter.

All I am trying to do with this thread is spark discussion on how *SOME* of the features of Natal could be incorporated with Halo: Reach.
