Corn, Oil, and Wine... We need more wine...

The only ODST we have seen holding a detachable turret is the heavy weapons specialist, (forgot his name, sorry) so realy, there is no problem, I mean the guy holds Spartan Lazers and rockets on a regular basis...

This has to stop, we could at least use Adam Nee, for strength jokes... I think his first name is Adam at least.... Hmm... But anyway, "Nee" can lift, 800 Lbs+

I don't know who the hell Adam Nee is.

Snakie Purple.

"Hamdog, Hamdog, Hamdog, Hamdog"-Hamdog.

Twatter

yeah. I think it would make sense if you had to give your character that "perk". the ability to be strong enough to hold a turret, and maybe have a slightly stronger melee.

His name is Dutch, by the way.

Death to rank junkies.

The game is supposed to be fun. It would kind of suck to be stuck in one spot while using the turret.

I'll take any advantage I can get in firefight.

It is Romeo, the sniper.
The turrets cant actually be that heavy, or else how would they get them set up in the first place?

The tip of the sword... That's the place I am at.. In the front of the fighting force.

Exactly and everyone knows who Chuck Norris is. Anyway I don't see why we can't lift turrents as an ODST. I mean come on it's a video game. Plus we might need the extra firepower.

I think its sort of cheap how a marine will beable to carry a machine gun around. I Mean if you pick one up as the master chief he doesn't walk as fast with it meaning its heavy for a spartan. Yet a flmsy marine can pick one up. I don't care even if it is an ODST, he shouldn't beable to. Im just being realistic.

I'm guessing that the gameplay benefits of a Turret are not as great in the Firefight or campaign unless you can move around. It can't swivel that much, it doesn't do superior damage per se, and it's remarkably inaccurate. Ripping it off is one of the only viable ways to go, unless you are in a team of really cunning Halo players (I can think of at least one way to make it very effective on the stand).

I'm a little bothered that the ODSTs can carry detached turrets (I am, after all, a story nerd first), but I'm not so bothered I'm going to ignore the gameplay value.

Setting them up is one thing, firing them is another.

Especially considering that it is a .50 cal...

He stole it from me.

my threory is: bungies cutting us a break. i mean, firefight already seems hard enough, and now when they give us a bit of slack they get a bunch of fans whining that its no realistic. c'mon guys, lighten up!

People need to begin to understand that there is a fine balance that needs to be kept between accuracy and practicality. Yes it is unlikely that an ODST would be able to lug around that equipment with the same mobility as a spartan. BUT in order to keep inline with the Halo gameplay, with difference's, but not too far that it alienates the regular Halo gamer; Bungie is merely making a compromise between realistic accuracy and gaming practicality.

Adding to that, setting up a Turret would only require lifting it out of the case to its mount, using it as a detached weapon requires lugging it around, keeping it pointed downrange, and firing. Wouldn't happen.

Yes, I get that it is for gameplay, but if we can do this in Campaign Bungie just lost 7 points for story breaking.

Although these ODSTs are not Spartans, as it was said in the IGN interviews, the ODSTs are the next best thng.

Training wise. They do not have any physical augmentation and have the strength of a normal Marine.
