Alright im gonna skip all of the intelligent wording, paraphrasing, and manipulation of text and just get right out and say it. I have a theory. Ok so pay attention, in the end of Halo 3, after the credits, we see Master Chief floating towards a planet like construct. And as the music builds you see a light crescent the construct, lighting it up and revealing it to be made of some type of metal. No doubt inconclusive in origin. Alright now if you have read Ghosts of Onyx, then you know that some of Master Chiefs team, some of the new generation of Spartans, Dr. Halsey, and CPO Mendez, are locked safely inside the Onyx structure, along with some unidentified beings, which may be Forerunner. Anyway one of my thoughts is that Master Chief as seen in the Legendary ending of Halo 3, is floating toward a metal structure. And what happened to Onyx? It "shed" its crust revealing that the structures real surface is metal. So my theory is that Master Chief is floating towards Onyx, and might meet up with the group locked inside Onyx. But there is one hole in this theory I have found so far. In Fall of Reach, the author says that John never sees CPO Mendez again, as follows on page 101. "Good bye," Chief Mendez said.
He turned briskly on his heel and strode from the room.
John never saw him again.
Alright so either CPO Mendez dies before Chief reaches them, or I am way off base, but, as I said, this is just a theory. And now I come to why this is in the Halo Reach forum. I have mulled this theory over since i saw the Legendary ending to Halo 3, wow im getting really repetitive. I know alot of people have read the Halo books, but some of them still have not. And were Bungie to take this route to the story, it would leave plenty of really confused fans. So my first thought was that Bungie would have to create a game about the events on Reach when it fell for people to understand what was going on if Bungie created a game with similiar details from the above theory. So when I saw Halo Reach I thought, 'Perfect match.' But as a great theorist once said, "The moment I thought about it, it was already one hundred percent in MY head." I hope you enjoyed and if you have any comments, have any ideas that support it or poke holes in it, go ahead, im looking for answers and clues. Thnx! (:
