Subject: Theory with new evidence!!! Where is Master Cheif?

I know slipspace timetravel is possible with the whole aging and stuff but no way is Master Chief going back in time and seeing himself. Their is only one of him just like everyone else. I don't know how Bungie's version of slipspace timetravel works but I can gaurentee it's not what halo: reach is about.

well it depends where the past one is. the current could have traveled back and somehow died durring the battle of reach. and he could still be alive at a younger age at the same time

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

Reach is nothing but a sphere of glass hence the term, Glassed.

The planet at the end of Halo 3 is obviously a Forerunner world that looks habitable, but Reach by the time Halo 2 begins has no atmosphere, no oceans, and no cities... it's just glass and is not habitable.

Didn't cheif go back and find an artifact later though?

Part of the planet was not glassed because the Covenant knew the artifact was in that location, MC went back to Reach to rescue Dr.Halsey and the remaining Spartans and ended up taking the artifact with him back to the ship.

Yes, but that was only due to the fact that only one small area of Reach was left untouched so the Covenant could locate the crystal first. It is safe to assume that once the Master Chief, UNSC troops, and Spartans under his command evacuated Reach after recovering the crystal, the Covenant more than likely finished glassing the planet.

In the Halo novel "First Strike", John returns to Reach and rescues a handful of Spartans from the ONI research base. The Covenant forces are digging into the base and searching for a Forunner artifact. The Spartans recover the artifact, and escape with it. I think it's Fred, Grace, Anton, Li, and Kelly. Dr. Halsey is also rescued, and she performs surgery on Linda, who was rescued by Master Chief in a cryo pod after the destruction of the first Halo ring. They lead the attack on the Covenant base in a captured Covenant cruiser, and destroy it and the majority of ships that were being sent to attack Earth. Grace is killed in the attack by Brutes.

Not So Fast. Sam Died before the "Fall of Reach" All of the Spartans did grow up on Reach and his death could be an event in the game. If its not Sam its Will but im pretty sure the size of the image fits Sam.

i woke a bit ago and my son was playing halo 3 he was on forge i saw at the bottom of the screen was a charge for 35 dollars is that real or not did he charge 35 bucks or is that justfor the in game

-NO RECUITMENT MESSAGES PLEASE

How, how, HOW is this discussion about time travel still going on?! The Cheif has NOT gone back in time.

Cortana didn't say "Have an hours kip, the chaps from Reach down there will come get us" when MC was climbing into the cryotube. And you would think Cortana would probably know Reach.

As for the debate about Sam, I'm pretty sure it WILL be Sam. Just because the game is called Reach doesn't mean the whole game takes place there. In my opinion, the game will span the length of the book, involving all events from the book, plus a few more to pad out the game.

The Risk Is Worth The Reward.
Cry Havoc And Let Slip The Dogs Of War.

OMG really? Why is it so hard for you guys to get that Reach is before Halo CE. The chief has not gone back in time....dumbest thing I have ever heard.

  • 06.05.2009 6:06 AM PDT

The only problem with this theory is that Bungie are intelligent. If they were ever to introduce a "Time Travel" element to the game, they would send the Master Chief and Cortana either millenia backwards in time, or millenia forwards in time, to introduce a new situation, new enemies and an unfamiliar setting.

They wouldn't send them back a few years just so the Master Chief can keep fighting the Covenant. That's something eleven year olds do when they're looking for an excuse to keep their favourite characters in the story.

Non facete nobis calcitrare vestrum perinaeum

It has been said that Nicole is NON CANNON. Time travel is a stupid plot device that makes absolutely no sense. If the Chief wen't back i time he would know that he had gone back in time after the event.

  • 06.05.2009 6:36 AM PDT

I'm the Master chief

My theory is that time travel may be possible in the Halo universe. But if he traveled back in time, then the Ark would still have been there. It isnt there in the final scene. so its very unlikely that he timetraveled back in time.

Non facete nobis calcitrare vestrum perinaeum

Why does the Chief have to go back in time anyway. He fought at Reach.

LOOK OUT FOR THE ROFL FRAMES OF DOOM!

I see you have used effort into this theory... but, just no. Let's think logical here people.

Really, Bungie could do anything with this game to surprise us....

  • 06.05.2009 12:05 PM PDT

Badass Elite units

The spartans went to reach but master chief and two other spartans where in a space staion and the others went down to the planet

  • 06.05.2009 12:10 PM PDT

How to spell "space"?

S-P-ACE! SPACE!

"From the Beginning You Know the End."

Means you already know Reach is going to fall, dur.

Linda and John were in the station. All the rest went down onto the planet, and most died.

To be honest the main battle of Reach is only what seems to be maybe half a day...if not only a few hours. John, Linda, and James go into orbit(or stay since they were already aboard the Pillar of Autumn) to destroy nav data. While this is going on Fred is leading the ground ops in protecting the Orbital MAC Generators from being destroyed by the Covenant. Fred, Kelly, and Joshua take a nuke, capture banshees, and fly past the Covenant carrier and toss the nuke into the grave lift and blow up the ship and all the covenant around it. Joshua dies.

While this is happening the spartans protecting the MAC generators are overun and slaughtered, also hit by plasma bombardment(i think). Then the spartans go into ONI castle base and hide. Then the Chief comes meets up with Whitcomb and two other spartans then they go into castle base and then the COvenant attack them and start digging for them. There are a few days of no combat while they are down there so that would be hard to make into a game.

Now that I think about it if Bungie can somehow get past the whole 4 day no combat thing then they could fit in Operation First Strike(the actual combat operation not the whole book) and then head back to Earth. That would make an amazing game but again they would have to have cutscenes and then say "4 days later", which I don't see Bungie doing but who knows.

Edit: Take note that Sierra 259 and 320 are not known spartans. If they are spartan and not Pelican numbers then they die. These two 'spartans' never even make it to castle base, meaning the die during the initial battle and protection of the MAC generators. This characters wouldn't fit into the above theory of what the game would be like. They aren't class two spartans either.

If buingie is talking to all their fans they wouldn't say you know the end of reach. I mean, some people don't read the books which means not everybody knows whats going to happen.
