I saw a lot of wants and needs for Halo Reach but no too much on the forge expectations or wants. I think it is great to be able to create and play a wide variety of options. Forge keeps the game new and is vital to Halo's success. What do you guys want in Halo Reach's Forge?

Alt thread. But I would want a terrain editor, something more complicated. Things like texture editors too if a PC version ever came out.

Personally some of my wants for forge are as follows:

A much wider variety of forge objects. Foundry was a great level for forge but I want MORE. More objects, more weapons, and more options for gameplay and objects.

Another idea is that Bungie creates an online forge playlist where they have a massive collection of approved forge maps that get cycled every day or week or so. After the players have tried the maps for so long they could have the ability to rate the map. Maps receiving great ratings could get cycled into other playlists. This also gives forge creators to get their maps out there and to be seen by a wide variety of players.

I think the more flexibility and options they give us will be better. Maybe the ability to manipulate the existing environment and maps.. Like to extend walls halo placed in there. Maybe shape doors idk just throwing ideas around.

When I think of more things I'll post them.

I would like to see the ability to have a certain building as a forge object. Instead of making stuff with walls and boxes.

ohai...

A lot of people have already said, but I want 90 degree snapping and a grid like on the Sandbox map, also snap to grid would be awesome.

It would make forging symmetrical maps simpler than it is now.

I am not 100% on this but I think they want to keep Halo off the PC for various reasons including copyright infrigment and sorts. Any torrent sight will still list halo and halo 2 as top downloads. Microsoft loses money this way. Where as if they keep it on the 360 then they came control map pack payments through xbox live and force more people to own a 360 just to play the game. If it werent for Halo... I probably would just own a computer.

All of these ideas look cool but bungie said that forge was going to be a map editor not a map maker so the people who want far cry type stuff need to get far cry.now i would LOVE halo reach to have a map maker but it most likely wont :(

oh and some of the ideas are plausible like snapping items together

I wouldn't say its impossible. But yea, I think chances are slim. Just make the controls easier and give us more fluidity in making the maps. That's all the Forge needs really.

I didn't mean it'd be too hard to implement. I'm sure bungie could manage to do something good.

no, the problems comes from M$. if we could make maps ourselves, then who'd buy map packs? less profit.
if it has halo in it, then you'll never have something free/anything that can make you save money.

I know I'm negative but bungie disappointed me many times. they hyped me up like crazy for H3 and the game didn't live up to it. in fact it was extremely disappointing (brutes (no elites), less story (one sided), short campaign, average graphics, host based mp, forge too limited, no BG/coag/battlecreek, less armors for elites, etc).
so the less I expect from HR, the more I'll be surprised in a good way.
also, read the other post why I explain why it won't happen. I have arguments to back up my negative thoughts with.
