Why are you reading this when you could be reading the awsome post I just made above?

To keep an idiot entertained for hours, click here.

I know that in the time of ODST the flood havent reached earth yet, but since Firefight isn't directly part of the campaign it wouldn't conflict with the story. I mean, choosing from either covenent or flood enemies as an option in the lobby. And possibly even sentinels too. What do you guys reckon?

First intelligent idea involving combining Halo 3:ODST and the Flood. I'm not sure how I feel about this. But it definitely has merit.

Forgot to give you your prize. Have a pretzel.

OMG pretzelyay!

Annnnd if you don't like flood, don't play against the flood, simple as that.
And it's not like bungie would have to re-program much to put them in, seeming as they're already in Halo 3, and ODST is an expansion, not a complete new game in itself. It'd just be a matter of making them balanced.

From the Drop Into Firefight update:
Though you've squared off against most of the enemies you'll face in Firefight before, you're not going to be able to rely on your past experiences alone to guide you through all of the action.
So, maybe Flood will be in firefight, but not in campaign.

If not different waves for each map, like flood maps and elite maps, i seriously hope they add in an option, but looking at the firefight lobby it doesnt say anything like that, but one can change day and night maps, and hopefully flood maps.

Maybe DLC

Seeing as the game takes place weeks before Halo 3 and the Flood arrive half way through Halo 3... there will be no flood in campaign. Maybe an easter egg flood will be, but other wise there is no chance.

Good point... maybe we will see some Flood killing action, but with no energy shields we are gonna have to be VERY careful if it does happen

Elites :D ya!

ohai...

Flood would be awesome in the firefight, but the flood was never on earth at this time.

And ODST don't have shields therefore they would become infected too easily.

Camo Elites would be awesome, but i reckon highly unlikely.

It'd bring back so many great memories of halo 1, especially after the grav-lift on truth and reconciliation, many of the rooms on the silent cartographer, and the final area on two betrayals where you have to get to the Banshee, that encounter is so good!

Fingers crossed Elites of all ranks, Sentinels (including enforcers and the axed strato-sentinels, they were supposed to be on the level that was axed from halo 3's campaign) and the flood make it in to FireFight.

It's be even more awesome, if there is a option to turn on a great schism mode, so all races are against each other and you. Again this is highly unlikely.

I know, and neither was a whole bunch of multi-coloured armor-permulated Spartan-II's (at any point in time). Neither did they go to places such as Valhalla or Cold Storage, to fight over flags and human remains. See what I'm getting at here? Multiplayer isn't canon, therefor Bungie can put absolutely anything they want in it.

And I'm not saying it should be like an infection gametype, just normal survival Firefight but against flood, who generally give you different challenges to covenant.

Whisper Game Studios - shhhh, it's a public secret.
Webcam MVP
Sarsion.net
Bnet PM Policy

[*Please note that anything in my posts is likely to be filled with sarcasm, and should be taken with a pinch of salt. I tend to help people, usually*]

Personally, I'd love to see all of the enemies that we're familiar with from Halo's Campaign.

Covenant, Flood, and Sentinels.

Bear in mind, we don't know what all of the Firefight maps look like. There may be locations from Halo 1, 2 and 3 for us to do battle in.

Social Infection ftw

Scarabs.

Well, the maps and descriptions are canon, as are the armors.

But that doesnt change that fact that what you're doing is not actually canon. Do you think that a whole bunch of ODST's stopping to rack up points and medals against a whole bunch of enemies in an enclosed environment is canon? No, probably not, unless Halo has gone Space Invaders on us =p

Scarabs.

Yes, yes, YES! Haha but not randomly spawning, only after a looooong gametime to scare the crap outta players xD might be a bit, erm, overly-difficult to take one down as an ODST though, especially while trying to conserve ammo.

  • 06.05.2009 3:59 AM PDT

Well they said that there would be vehicles in some maps, why not a transport hornet to get into the scarab and take it down?

We dont need infection forms, we can just have pure forms and all combat forms lol
and for the elites, just the same with brutes and theyre jetpacks and grunt squads. instead of chieftain a zealot with energy sword.
