One of my buddies came up with this idea, and at first I didn't think anything of it, but he might have something to it. Lets look at the facts.
>> Bungie had 3 unknown games in production before they announced ODST. Then they announced ODST (the first known project)
>> Bungie has said before that Halo 3: ODST was the last Halo project they had on their horizon.
>> Bungie podcast before ODST was announced said that the games they were making were "some more familiar than others." (hinting at a new Intellectual property)
So far we have one too many Halo games, and one too few brand new IPs. Marathon 4 should be the big thing at e3 this year, but it wasn't.
Here's where the plot thickens.
>> Ensemble studios releases Halo wars. The game is financially profitable, with the only criticism mainly being it's not made by Bungie.
>> Microsoft shuts down Ensemble and promises to try and find jobs for it's employees.
>> Microsoft announces a new Halo FPS, in partnership with none other than Bungie.
I'm not pointing fingers here, but I am completely aware of the relationship that Bungie and Microsoft have. Sometimes... Bungie doesn't exactly call the shots. Could it be possible that old ensemble employees are making Halo wars, somehow with the Bungie logo slapped on it?
