In the G4 video here it states that Halo ODST was the last game in the Halo trilogy. So where does Halo: Reach fall into all this if it is not part of the trilogy where does it fall. It say it at 1:05.

That doesn't rule out a prequel.

bungie always said last game in the story ARK. last game in the trilogy where we follow MC fighting against hordes of covies on the halos to stop the prophet.

as the other said, prequels are not part of the trilogy.

Well Halo 3: ODST is a prequel and it is a part of the trilogy. So if Halo: Reach is a prequel also it should be apart of the trilogy.

ODST is not a game. it's more of a filler and an expansion than a full game.

it is not a PREQUEL just because the game's time is set before the Halo trilogy starts does not make it a prequel. It has to be apart of the Trilogy to be a prequel and Halo 3: ODST is the last installment in the Trilogy so it cant be a prequel just because the time is set before the events of Halo. If bungie makes a World War II game it is not a prequel to Halo just like this game is not.

Excuse me for interjecting but when you create a game/movie that would proceed the game/movie and provide more relevant information in the same "universe", when i say universe I am referring to a created world and story. So sir Triple 7 Legend unfortunately you are wrong. If Reach is about the Fall of Reach and ends with the beginning of Halo 1, then it most certainly is a prequel to the trilogy that is Halo 1,2,3(ODST).

There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

Isn't that the definition of prequel? Maybe becasue there are none of the same characters, you could argue this, but it's the same timeline.

it IS a prequel.
it is literally set like a hour before HCE... what else do you need? same characters, setting, universe, happens a few hours before the first game...

however it's not a part of the trilogy, just like the more recent star wars movies are NOT part of the old SW trilogy BUT are all prequels.

Mostly Harmless, from the Hitchhikers Guide trilogy was labelled by Douglas Adams;

"The fifth book in the increasingly inaccurately named trilogy."

Also, Star Wars was split into two trilogies

This would be a good time to point out that the US Government seriously did consider nuking the moon during the Cold War as a show of force. Project A119.

"A large explosion on the Terminator line would put the sun behind the mushroom cloud, making the explosion visible with the naked eye from Earth."

Then the US decided they'd just send in Neil Armstrong to land on it. Neil Armstrong - the one man on the earth that was considered a suitable replacement for a nuclear missile.

OP, I got dumber reading your post.

Alright, i just reread fall of reach, and i have a comparison to help your idioc- i mean lapse in judgement. take for example the lord of the rings TRILOGY. the book 'the hobbit' was not part of the trilogy (trilogy means 3 everyone) yet the hobbit was a prequel. plus almost all the same characters from halo CE are in fall of reach, including mc and cortana. there just also happens to be losta spartans as well.

How the -blam!- are you trying to tell the community its not a prequel when Bungie and Microsoft announced themselves, that its a prequel. Halo Wars is also a prequel.

Heres the definition of a prequel, cause you obviously don't know what one is.

prequel: A novel, play, film, or other narrative usually written after the popular success of an earlier work but set before the events in that successful earlier work, and incorporating characters, settings, and situations with which the audience is already familiar.
