think about it it's fair 20$ for the campaign. 20$ for firefight [if firefight was priced as 800 micro Pts. I think people would buy it and 800 Pts. is = to 20$]. 20$ for the new maps [maps are usually 800 Micro Pts. any way]
So i believe it is priced right although i am definitely not rich so i want it to be less i am willing to pay and i am getting the game, does anyone agree or is everyone still crying over the price.

  • 06.05.2009 7:55 AM PDT

1600 ms pts.= $20

but i agree.

800 MSP =/= $20.00

So if we don't agree with you, we are obliviously poor or selfish, right?

sry but most people by 1600 pts. at a time which equals 20$ anyway i am just tired of whiners especially because i know it doesn't matter people are going to buy it anyway and no just trying to make a point i am basically poor and some times i'm selfish dont get mad at me

Look for the signs, the keepers of the flame. They will lead you to war, and perhaps, to victory.

Shangheili FTW

Actually, if it was 800 ms it would be 10$. But 20$ (1600 MP) is acceptable.
Oh, and the new maps are only gonna be 10$ every map pack has been 10$, this one will too.
20$ campaign + 20$ firefight + 10$ Mythic 2 + 10$ Mythic 1 + 8$ Legendary = 68$
See people, we're even getting it cheaper than it should be.

i woke a bit ago and my son was playing halo 3 he was on forge i saw at the bottom of the screen was a charge for 35 dollars is that real or not did he charge 35 bucks or is that justfor the in game

The price is still outlandish for anyone that owns Halo 3 and purchased all the map packs. Conversely to you, I am pretty rich, but it's not a matter of how much money you have,

"it's about a personal sense of worth" - The Arbiter, Arby 'n' the Chief

For an expansion, it's a lot of money. Sure campaign will be good, and Firefight is something we've always wanted, but in all fairness, the rest is kinda surplus to requirements. I'm buying the Halo 3 multiplayer again, along with the Heroic, Legendary and Mythic maps. I don't WANT all that again, and I shouldn't be charged extra for it.

All the above is null and void, I'll still be buying 2 copies of the game (one for me, one for my brother) but I just wanted to throw my opinion out there.

all halo maps, including 3 new ones comes up to a little over $20 alone, so that adds to it, also compair this to the new terminator game, 4 hour campaign, no replay value, no multiplayer and that was $60

Okay, so what about all the people (everyone?) who have already purchased the Mythic Map Pack? I get to buy them again? Awesome. Really.

I'm still going to buy it, and I'm going to buy the Special Edition. But that doesn't mean I'm still not getting screwed out of my money.

Also, you're forgetting to charge for the Beta Key, which Microsoft is obviously doing as well.

Truth is, it's an expansion. It should be priced as such.

GeneralMykus i do agree that they are giving us stuff we already paid for which is annoying so 50$ maybe but its sadly up to microsoft they are not going to lower it anytime b4 3 months

68$ (because heroic and cold storage are free anyway) is quite a good deal for someone that doesn't have Halo 3 or hasn't bought the maps that cost points.
For someone who already has Halo 3 and has bought all the maps available. We're getting ripped for 18$. I agree it's not very good. But can you see Microsoft doing a separate edition for people who already have the legendary and mythic part 1 maps?

I can honestly see why they would consider it a full game, with the inclusion of Firefight. But the truth is, that's an add-on, working as a separate Multiplayer experience. It's not part of the campaign. And, Bungie has stated that the campaign for ODST is not as long as Halo 3. So, I still consider it an expansion.

Ya Ig ot the map packs before those two were free So We are getting shafted over and over again!

But yeah, people that complain about the price are annoying.

Here's how I see it, $20 for campaign, $15 for firefight, $15 for all mythic and legendary maps, and $10 for Halo: reach beta.

That's only because your mother buys things for you. You don't know what it's like to go out and actually earn a living.

You shouldn't have to pay for a beta. Betas are conducted to gain research and make the game better for release. Micro$oft is just money grubbing like usual. It should be fifty dollars at the most.

  • 06.05.2009 8:18 AM PDT

I agree it should be $50 but for $60 I believe my calculations are suitable. Or you can make the maps $20 and beta $5

True. That is probably what the people over at Microsoft thought they would do too for coming up with the pricing.

I have one thing to ask you!!

1. Have you got HALO 3?
2. Are you going to buy Halo 3 : ODST
3. Have you got all the maps that have been released already?
4. How much did you spend on getting those maps?

Well if you have said yes to the first 3, you are not going to be paying about $20 more then you shoudl be. So think of your ODSt as $80 not $60 well done the maths do add.

I feel a right dumb ass now that I see the math dont add up! Well done you are part of the dumb people group. I hope you enjoy your stay!

While the suggestion of two, or more variations of Halo 3: ODST would make sense for the consumer, it doesn't for Microsoft, and that's why it won't happen.

However, I think there needs to be a sort of middle ground. I don't mind paying for the things I don't already own (and by own, I mean I paid for. I didn't get them free), but I do care for paying for things twice. The pricing scheme you came up with is fine, it's all well and good, but that's not the point.

If there was a way people who already about the maps, could get a discounted version of the final release of ODST, that would work. I have no idea how they could make this happen, but there should be a way. Or, if anything, reimburse us the difference (even in Microsoft Points), for paying for the maps twice.
