Spinning a plate on a stick is impressive, but if you try to spin three at once then you'll just end up digging porcelain out of your face.

Could the new maps hold the new SMG, pistol, and the brute plasma rifle? It's just a thought.
(I know you'll say "But Zack, They're not changing Halo 3 MM, so they won't do this." All I have to say to that is that as far as I know Longshore, Heretic, and the other map [I can't remember the name] will not be available for the standard Halo 3 disk, so they very well could put these extra weapons into the fore mentioned maps.)

Why the hell are you looking at this? Get out.

And no group invites, you jerk. I'm not interested.

They're more downloadable content levels...

From what I've heard (I may be wrong) is that you don't get maps like Longshore if you don't buy ODST. Also, That the second disk has all of Halo 3's multiplayer experience on it, aside from Firefight. So if this is true and you can only get Longshore and Heretic from ODST then it would make sense to be able to have those weapons in there.

The AR is an awesome weapon, RESPECT IT AS SUCH!!!

its possible, but i think that it might make the games a bit unbalanced with a scoped pistol and a scoped smg with greater accuracy than the original one, but it would be nice.

Look for the signs, the keepers of the flame. They will lead you to war, and perhaps, to victory.

Shangheili FTW

Dude, there are achievements for them in Halo 3 which means those 3 maps will be available a couple weeks after in the marketplace for the usual 800 MP.
I doubt it's legal to make a game have achievements that require you to buy ANOTHER game (don't confuse this with regular DLC) to get them.

Ah, true. Maybe they could have the silenced and original SMG in Forge mode along with the pistol.

Doubt it, Bungie COULD make the silenced smg appear in Halo 3 but it would just be as the 7' wood, it would be the same weapon with a different skin on it but with the exact same attributes.

But people do it all of the time. They require you to download certain maps to unlock achievements in other games, how would this be any different?

Like I said, not to confuse with regular DLC. Those maps are specific to that game, they aren't forcing to buy an entire new game to get those specific achievements.
If what you said was true, people that didn't want ODST, wouldn't be able to get the vidmaster brainpan, and all the other achievements that require the 2nd part of the mythic pack.

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

No. Multiplayer is unchanged. The 3 new maps are just new things for the multiplayer, so we just dont get a new campain/co-op, but also something for multiplayer.

New weapons would screw up the balance of the game. (especially that pistol)

  • 06.05.2009 9:37 AM PDT

Its simple i think. Each map has different things in them that may not be in another map.

So you could see that you can use the guns in the 3 maps (or 6 as part of the last map pack) but you cant use them in the other maps!

But those guns are in the disk. Not the map itself. The 7' wood I mentioned is just a gravity hammer but with a different skin. THAT'S the max Bungie can do to make the silenced smg and the pistol appear in Halo 3. Change the skins of the smg and the pistol in those 3 maps but keep the attributes, like, the pistol wouldn't shoot as fast as it does in ODST.

DLC's are expansions. You're forced to buy expansions all the time to unlock certain achievements. This one just happens to be a $60 expansion.

Plus, you said yourself that the maps would be specific to ODST, so it that's true, then they very well could implement these weapons to the ODST specific maps.

You don't have to put them on the map. I'm sure you wouldn't find the 7' wood in a regular game of matchmaking on Sandbox.

I didn't say they were specific to ODST, I said they come with it but if people don't want to buy ODST they'll just have to wait a couple weeks for the maps to be on the marketplace.
And this so called expansion, which is more of a full game now, just so happens to include new weapons and Bungie has said that the multiplayer will remain the exact same. They would have told us already if it had the weapons.

$.50 in store credit.

I believe they come with ODST and you can dl them from the market place later.

  • 06.05.2009 9:57 AM PDT

The answer is no the new weapons will be in the campaign firefight mode on Halo ODST on the first disk and thats it, the new 3 maps will be on the second disk with all the other maps and the 3 new maps will eventually go on the marketplace for 800 msp

Noobs can't handle AR/Pistol Spawns.

Why would they add the new weapons into Halo 3s multiplayer? Wouldnt their need to be something done so they can even do that...
