"Spartans Never Die", Kurt Ambrose Spartan-051

Zealot of Law

If you listen to it, it says "This is Noble 1, we've got spartans on the ground Sir". So yes we assume it is a pelican although didn't one of them get shot and had to jump.

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

Noble 1 is most likely a pelican, but neither Sierra 320 or 259 are. They are Spartans and this theory states that Sierra 259 and 320 are pelicans.

Actually wasn't their pelican called Bravo-001?

Idk maybe... I'm reading the book again, so I'll find out soon.

...............There was never a pelican with the call sign of Sierra.

What makes you so sure of that? There weren't any in the books but I know that Bungie hasn't ever really went by the books. They have never went againsed them but never with them.(Cept the Flood but that was made after Halo CE in which case, the book went with the game. Not the other way around).
And the only spartan called Sierra was MC if I remember correctly. (Haven't read the books in a while so I don't remember for sure).

EDIT: And I'm just using Echo 419 as an example.

No we don't have proof that no pelican had a call sign of Sierra, but we do have proof it was used for Spartans. So for me, that's enough to make your theory a shot in the dark, with minimal proof, at best.

But just to be clear. I'm not calling you stupid or your thread stupid. Speculation is good. I'm just providing proof that Sierra was used for Spartans and we have no proof it was used for Pelicans. Speculation usually has some root in fact and I see no fact in your speculation.

But we do have proof that military code or whatever you call it is used for pelicans, and Sierra is military code for "S" as my theory states.

Plus speculation dosn't have any proof. Speculation is just ideas of subjects that may or may not have any proof. It's just to give out an idea.

I didn't say proof, i said fact, but your speculation does have some fact. Call signs were used for Spartans and Pelicans. That we can agree on. But we also have proof of Sierra being used for Spartans and not Pelicans. Based on what we know, Sierra, in one case, is definitely used for Spartans. Sierra being used for pelicans is a possibility but we have no proof it was ever used.

So based on the facts we have, Sierra is not a pelican, but a Spartan.

EDIT: @ Decoy---That'll never happen.

What is the purpose of playing as a spartan that we know will die a few game hours after they land? Those two spartans for a fact do not even make it to castle base and are never even mentioned until now. So if they are spartans then we don't play as them. Unless the game doesn't follow the book at all or any of the fights during the battle of Reach. Because these two are never in the castle base and don't leave Reach for operation first strike. Plust like i said there are two spartans that talk, just because they are talking doesn't' mean we play as them though it is likely but yet unlikely.
We will have to wait and see when bungie releases more info.

Sierra is a military code for the letter "S".

Wonder what Bungie have in store for use after Reach?

Posted by: Tack ll7
Something tells me that these 2 people aren't even spartans, but instead they are pelicans. The word "Sierra" dosen't have to meen that they are spartans just because MC was called Sierra 117 in Halo 3. Sierra is the military code (or whatever it's called) for the letter "S" just like Alpha is for "A" and Bravo is for "B." As most of you already know in Halo CE one of the pelicans was called "Echo 419." Echo = E.

Its called the Phonetic Alphabet which is used in the military to spell out words over the radio and to call out squads.

For the life of me I couldn't remember what it was called. Thank you.

ORLY? Go and Play Halo 1, and then read Halo: The Flood. Every part in the book that involves MC is identical to Halo 1. The books are based off of the Halo bible and the games are too.

Recent K/D ratio 2:1

Recent games is either 1st or 2nd place mostly.

Sierra is a code name for Spartan, that is why in Halo 3 on rats nest level of whatever you here them say "Sierra 117 inbound" or something like that and you hear the two marines chatting and they say outloud "Spartan?" (BECAUSE THAT IS THE CODE FOR SPARTAN)

Also in the teaser trailer the guy says "This is Sierra 259, you got Spartans on the ground sir, we're not going anywhere..." Which obviously means he is a Spartan and therefore he calls himself Sierra 259 so....yeah.

And where is this Halo Bible you speak of? I'm pretty sure that Bungie calls the shots and there isn't any "Bible" of anything Halo.

Bungie has the Bible, I wish when they were all said and done they would release it.

The key word would be we. Assuming that Sierra 259 is a spartan, which is more likely than a pelican at this point, saying "we're not going anywhere" would mean that the Spartan is with the company of other Spartans.

Also, the reaction of Sierra 259 of having Spartans on the ground is pretty much the same when MC hears the Spartan call sign in First Strike. Only another spartan would react in the way Sierra 259 does.

the military code you are all talking about is called the phonetic alphabet, and the phonetic alphabet in halo is the same as in our current military today. Alpha, bravo, charlie, delta, echo, foxtrot, golf, hotel, India, juliet, kilo, lima, mike, november, oscar, papa, quebec, romeo, sierra, tango, uniform, victor, wisky, x-ray, zulu. Noble 1 is probably a special call sign.

And I know this has been mentioned, but Sierra 259 says, "You've got Spartans on the ground, sir. We're not going anywhere." He is referring to himself and others, obviously. He is a Spartan, not a Pelican, or anything else.

You obviously have not been here long enough to know of the Halo Bible, which has been mentioned by bungie over the years because they are the ones who wrote the halo bible.

The first 3 halo books and Halo 1 came out at about the same time, which means that the Authors were working very closely with bungie to adhere to the halo bible. The books were made to give background to halo 1, but both were made at about the same time, so one was not based off of each other. Both were based off of the halo bible.

Sad thing is. I doubt we will ever see it considering the fact that since Bungie made it, they can also change it. If they ever released it to the public, they wouldn't ever be able to change it. :(

Funny story.

Actually he says "You've got Spartans on the ground." not "We've got Spartans on the ground."

I think it's pretty clear sierra stands for Spartan.
