Wonder what Bungie have in store for use after Reach?

Iv'e seen Brutes, Grunts and I'm pretty sure that there will be Drones, Jackals and Hunters, but what about elites? Seeing as though this takes place before the Humans join forces with the Elites, will we be fighting them, or is there main mission to protect the prophets. I really liked vsing the Elites in Halo CE and Halo 2 so I'm wondering if they will be in ODST

NO.

The High Prophets had started to put Elites out of power at this time in favor of the easily usable Brutes. One of the first acts was sending Brutes, not Elites into New Mombasa to patrol.

Ok, just wondering because I didn't realize that the elites we're being put aside at this point.

Honestly, I think there should be Elites for at least the first part, which takes place before brutes take over. Since this is an expansion to Halo 3, though, and Brutes are the main enemies in Halo 3, Bungie decided to use the excuse that the Brutes are used for occupation of cities to justify not adding Elites as enemies.

But the thing is is that you are knocked out for the first couple of hours so the brutes would of had the authority

i just blow stuff up

in terms of time yes and no

yes because some parts of the game may be BEFORE the battle of delta halo

and no because were not sure how long the rookie has been out from getting nailed by the other SOEV and the crash

But weren't Elites the ones who attacked the city in the first place? Then they were stranded when Regret escaped to Delta Halo. The changing of the guard wouldn't affect the troops on Earth since they are separated from the rest of the Army.

Sorry for everyone else's rude remarks, but i don't think there will be, as much as i VASTLY prefer fighting elites over brutes.

And to that guy that said that think about elites being out of power by then - he's wrong. The exchange of hats is not for a few more days after the slipspace jump in new mombasa.

Revvin' up your engine,
Listen to her howlin' roar,
Metal under tension,
Beggin' you to touch and go!

My opinion: MC fights them in Halo 2 on earth . IF you fight as ODST at the same time before slipspace of Regret's ship then Elites should be there but from what I have seen in the teasers the ODST lands after/during slipspace of the ship and a while after slipspace you can see a phantom flying over witch could indicate that the 2de battle of earth has started.

in the storyline of the graphic novels the elites left with regret and as brutes were more expendable they were left behind to keep the city in covenant hands. when you begin in the game you are droping in as regret is leaping into slip space therefor elits have gone, also you are droping with your team so even if the events they were linked to happen hours before you awaken they still wouldnt be facing off with elites.
sorry if this is disapointing, personally i like fighting brutes more their not as easy to kill :)
on the other hand for elite fans although you wont get to face off with them they may be the boss you never get to fight :)
its has been confirmed if you didnt see that ODST will contain a boss you see but dont get to fight as the chief did in halo 2 my guess is this cold be some kind of elite?
or more like a scarab or something.
:)
