I'll bring the tritium laser cutters if you bring the beer!

Funny story.

Ok, I've been reading few threads here, and I've seen weird claim about the identity of the character on that banner.

First it can't be; Will, Kelly, John, Fred and Linda.

Because Linda is currently with John searching for the Circumference, dispatching the N.A.V. data.

And remember, every Spartans looked the same in their armour, you're not suppose to be able to distinguish a guy from a girl, seeing as I can pretty easily see a female silhouette I'm going to say these are just regular marines.

Now the tall one on the left might be a spartan, someone people have said he could have been the tall Spartan (Don't remember his name, sorry) but he's also with John searching for the Circumference.

I'm excluding the possibility of the tall one to be an Elite, that would be against the Canon.

If my <<female>> argument doesn't convince you, then just look at that one, his armor is clearly less bulky than the other ones.

Yes I've read the books, and sorry for my spelling, English is not my first language, feel free to disagree with me but please provide counter arguments.

Edit1: What I'm trying to say is, we probably don't know who these persons are, and are probably the new heroes.

Double = Bottom! This one was deleted so it takes up less space.

I'm going to agree with you, the Characters and Spartans on Reach may have the Older version of the Infiltration Suits they had during the training on Reach before they recived the MJOLINR Armour. The suits were still highly untested, and the Armour may have had to been modified for the Spartans at first. The Serrias were also in the high numbers, meaning they may have been the other generation of them besides the one John 117 was apart of. Meaning the Characters may be ones we never heard of, and may not live to the end of the game... rather go out in a blaze of glory, becoming the first Spartans to "Never Die."

Although I'm not excluding the possibility of the Sierra's of being new generation of Spartan II not augmented with the MJOLNIR yet, that's a good guess.

They could also be Pelican pilots, seeing as he said : We have Spartans on the ground.

Sierra 230 could be like Echo 419.
