Your friendly and eccentric Sangheili forum-poster. :)

Brutes were replacing Elites everywhere, but I'd imagine there would be pockets of Elite squads still around the city. They're not the type of species to just give up their positions in the city just like that, not if their honour demands otherwise.

The ODST should be able to wield a broken turret, but not rip it off. After all, if a regular marine/ODST cannot hold the turret, how would it get there in the first place?

Here's a plot hole for you. Think about this:

So, if anyone here's seen the whole opening movie, they know that the entire squad drops down together before the slipspace event. So, why does The Rookie pick up objects and events are re-lived when those events were obviously before the drop? How are the flashbacks supposed to help him find his squad when his squad didn't disappear because of them?
What? I don't think the flashbacks are part of the Rookie's memory. I think they are more for the player and to help the flow of the game etc.

"When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons! What am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give EL1TE SUPR3MACY lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

1. Elites left to protect the Prophet of Regret, as the Elites were the Prophets escorts and bodyguards at the time.

2. If they can set it up, they can take it apart too.

It starts six hours after Regret left earth. All the elites leave with him.

Once Truth learns that Regret has found Earth (during the space battles, several hours before the slipspace event.) he sends his own people, the Brutes. They arrive in time for you to fight them a few hours after the jump.

Halo 3: ODST looks like it's shaping up to be a great campaign experience. However, I just can't get over the fact that a gigantic plot hole seems to be overlooked. In terms of story, how can the fact that no Elites are present in the campaign be explained? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the game starts a few minutes after the Master Chief destroys the Scarab in Halo 2, right? This would make sense considering the slipspace event with the Covenant ship happened moments afterward. I know that our character doesn't wake up until a while later, but was that really enough time to completely remove all Elite combat squads from the city and put Brute squads in?

Also, I don't understand how ODSTs can wield the turret. I thought that was supposed to be one of the amazing feats of strength reserved for a Spartan. I am hoping that they can only pick up a turret that has been knocked off of its stand, and can't rip it off its base.
you wake up six hours after drop, thats more than enough time for truth to send in the brutes while regret is away

´we´re not fighting elites because right now they are fighting masterchief .i know not every single elite is after masterchief but they are high level units in the covenant and new mombassa was just destroyed, grunts, jackals, brutes etc etc are sent to search for survivors because they are low lvl units compareed to elites. that's why in new mombassa there are not elites

All roads lead to Sol.

The turret is only Wieldable during Fire-fighter mode.

Elite squads wouldn't still be around the city because they were killed by the slipspace event and even if they survived they would be badly wounded.

Plus, the Rookie doesn't get out of his pod until 6 hours after the slipspace event.

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

I'm easily convinced by the "Elites follow Regret so Truth can have Brutes on Earth and High Charity" The master plot.

Few bodies, Spectres etc. Elite remains wouldn't hurt.

Its not even that complicated. The elites didn't die in the blast, they got into the ship and rode to Delta Halo.

Sc King Cobra

6 hours, with the covenant technology, they could just amass them in one area, then just beam them up using a grav lift the ships have.

It takes place 6 hours after landing. So, about the time of the Death of Mercy and the Flood takeover of High Charity.

did any1 think of army troops , that different troops are sent out to scout/fight in different areas so... what if a brute squad (together with hunters jackals grunts and all the other covenant stuff w/o elites) were sent out 2 the area you are going to

  • 06.05.2009 2:23 PM PDT

6 hours of being unconcious. Reinforcements take 6 hours.

Tadaaa.[/quote]

if i takes 6 hours for reinforcements to arrive, who are you fighting during the flashbacks?
