Three times in the game I was in, I throw a grenade get killed and my grenade disappears. This happens alot and it frustrating. I see the granade twenty feet away arcing gracefully to land at someone's feet, I get killed and listen but no explosion, no flying spartan. The grenade should be able to finish it's flight and do it's business, but NO, it's tied to your lifeforce somehow. GGGRRRRR!!

Are u actually Saying that the Granades only Explode when u die.....?

Do u have Particles and Textures Of? cause that can cause u not to see the explosion set them both to high in options if u can

System specs please to see if that maybe ur problem.

It has to do with lag.

He's saying that whenever he throws a greande, happens to get killed by someone else, he says the grenade that he threw does not explode.

hmmm, i'm not sure what happens after u die but probably you just can't see your grenade exploding, i mean, how could you as the camera always zooms in on your body when u get killed, so maybe it DOES actually explode.

this happens all the time to me. infact, you didn't throw them yet, so they don't actually die. if you notice, there is a bit of lag between when you throw the nade, and when it actualy leaves you hand, (except if you're the host). so yeah... lag sucks.

In the Halo guide, this is listed as "glitch #244." Happens all the time and is the most noticable when you throw a nade and then die and then during the rejoin countdown listen for your nade to explode but it never does.

The reason it doesn't explode is because you really NEVER threw the granade to begin with. If you watch closely, it will happen when you are alive too. Throw two granades as fast as you can. You will notice that the first nade is thrown and then your arm throws the second one and you hear the nade bouncing, but the nade was never thrown and never blows up.

When you die, it LOOKS as if you threw a granade and, in fact, you may even hear it bouncing, but in reality, you died before the nade was thrown and, therefore, the nade REALLY wasn't thrown.

"Glitch #245" is similar. This is when you kill someone and it appears as if a nade suddenly is "live" from the dead person and it explodes. They are often referred to as "lag nades."

"Glitch #248" is also similar. This is when you kill a person and they "appear" to be able to still shoot you for a few seconds after they are dead. This is most apparent with rockets or fuel rods.

Anyway, the answer to your question is that it is one of the hundreds of glitches in the game.

It's just so frustrating because the nade is PERFECTLY placed. They will get a quick, painful enema and my death will be AVENGED! But NO I have to stew about it for 5 - 10 seconds. Lag SUCKS! @$%^#%^&W@$&^&*#$%&#$^%&$^&#$^@$^@&am p;^&%^&*$%&#%^

Behold, the joy of lag. Yeah, it's frustrating, but you learn to cope after a while. Although I probably lost half my stomach lining in the process...

i have experienced something different. i like throw a grenade, the arm still throwing when i die, and i see a flying spartan or weapons on the ground jump in the air with no explosion seen or heard. I guess that the nades i throw are actually there, u just can't see them.

After experimenting this weekend I've noticed a pattern. If the grenade hits the ground and you hear a click it will go off. If it is still airborne when you die, it will NOT go off. Threw a grenade at my feet and heard the click just before I died, BOOM. Threw a Hail Mary nade at a fleeing flag, 3-4 second hangtime. As it was coming down I got sniped, and I NEVER heard the explosion. I think it has to do with whether it is armed or not, which should be corrected if that is the case, but I know it won't so I will deal with unarmed nades tied to my lifeforce.

because bungie programmed the flag to do that or the flag is magical.

Programming?? whats that?! Of course the flag is magical, how else do you explain how it wins you the game, or how like u said it returns itself to the base, or how it stays vertical on the ground when theres nothing around it, or how it talks to you when your all by yourself at the base??......or is that just me.....
