I agree with Lethal Hate. However, I don't think Brutes were really in the story back during the Fall of Reach. For plot purposes, I might rather have Brutes omitted as a model, otherwise, absolutely. Brutes, Elites, Spartans, and ODSTs would be ideal character models to play as. If anything, they could slightly rescale them to comparable sizes for multiplayer only, for multiplayer purposes.
And seriously, Grunts? Wtf? Someone asked earlier if board members' IQs were lowering. I sincerely think they are. Let's be realistic - you want to play Halo. Halo is a game primarily centered around arena-based FPS gameplay. That is what Halo is. To play as Grunts would be nothing more than dicking around, ala Halo 2's "glitching" custom games.
I personally am getting sick and tired of people saying "It wud be teh roxorz if tehr wuz classes 4 da difernt playurz and tehy can go prone 4 da snipes and doo other kewl stuff."
JUST STFU! SERIOUSLY!
Halo's gameplay, from 1 through 3 has always been an arena-style FPS. Much like that of Unreal Tournament games, there's no "aiming down the sight" like Call of Duty, nor is there prone positions or crouching behind cover. It is a game primarily meant to be for run-and-gunning and trigger happy players who can utilize what Bungie calls their "Golden Three", Guns, Grenades, and Melee - thus also defeating a purpose for CLASS BASED GAMEPLAY.
It is a game that is very firm on sticking to their 30 seconds of fun, and then continuing that over and over again. If you're stuck behind cover or doing anything of the sort, you aren't going to be having a very fun 30 seconds. It'll be a dragged out tactical shooter where you have to think more than play.
