Because from what we've seen in the trailer, it seems that way. Seems a little unrealistic, I think over time it should get lighter.

Or am I wrong?

No battle is decided in a single moment, although in every battle there arise moments of crisis, on which the result depends. - Carl von Clausewitz

"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles." - Sun Tzu, the Art of War

How does fighting at night seem unrealistic?

I'm saying that over time, or after viewing a certain amount of flashbacks, it should turn day.

Good day. I'm an active and fairly enthusiastic member of the Bungie fan-base and pride myself on many qualities. If you want to send me a PM, go right ahead. No I won't spam your inbox with group invites, I will respond in the best way possible. Thank you, and as I had opened, I'll close - good day.

Yes, that is what Joe Staten said: Rookie at night, squad-mates at day, and it is realistic because he got some "sleep" (6 hours) so he's well rested, and he's got the VISR for better sight

I'll bring the tritium laser cutters if you bring the beer!

Funny story.

In an other interview he says that the flashbacks eventually get to your time line and then the story goes forward.

A33 WIL ALWAYS OWN HALO 3!!!!

they are practicly promoting the nightvision (visor) so what would be the point of putting the visor in a day lit game?

Recent K/D ratio 2:1

Recent games is either 1st or 2nd place mostly.

They all eventually meet up with each other I am guessing, and probably then play in the day.

  • 06.05.2009 1:59 PM PDT

the whole point is that you are not playing as the rookie a lot. You are playing flashbacks a lot which are at daytime. I guess eventually the rookie will advance into daytime. The campaign is not supposed to be an unlimited amount of days. the whole campaign will probably only span over 24 hours.

  • 06.05.2009 2:02 PM PDT

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

If the game is 5 hours. Flashbacks take atleast 3 hours. So the night itself is 2 hours. Most nights are dark for 5+ hours. not unrealistic.

It might be unrealistic if you stand there for 10 hours, but so is H3 campaign. And that ODST stands on warzone for 10 hours.

Because the Rookie's timeline is canonically only going to last 6 hours over the night-time.

Correct. Also, the Halo 3 Engine might not be able to do it.

its night time when the rookie wakes up. but i think the streets of new mombassa might be staying dark for good because of the storm. In the first trailer we see the clouds coming and i think these clods will provide enough shade for the visr to be of practical use.

Hello! I'm Bunie.net's resident medical student (hell i'm sure there are more but I'm the only one who openly declares it!) I love my emblem, and I am periodically active.
I have a Twitter

It seems like they are, from what we've seen the flash backs are day time.

Self-proclaimed genius.
Roam the streets with a sign, "will love for false hope."

Well all the flashbacks from four hours ago are in daylight. So it makes sense that if you wake up at night, you would be able to complete your mission before dawn...

From what I've heard Rookie is at night all the time until he finishes finding his squad and day time is flash backs.

Does anyone even read these?

Yes, because the trailer is a preview of every level and every bit of gameplay you will do as the Rookie.
