True. Now that I think about it having the -blam!- beat out of you with a pool ball in a tube sock by your degenerate pimp is the better choice.

.

I was listening to the OXM podcast, and I heard two things that interested me.

1. It is confirmed to be an FPS.

2. Bungie, a while back, hired the lead designer of Ghost Recon to be a project head on Halo Reach.

While the first one is a convenient bit of information, the second is very interesting because it lends substantial evidence to the theory that this will be a squad based shooter. The picture above also somewhat suggests it and canonically (is that a word?) it would make sense due to the amount of spartan IIs that actually took place in the battle.

Lol

But i always had the idea they may make a Republic Commando like game, if anything, this is the best bet.

I hope so, I would love it if it had fully integrated co-op like Halo 3.

Exalted is considered "the highest" because you can't get any bans or warnings of any kind for quite a long time, which is harder than just being a member for a long time.

Every time Bungie talks about a new game someone shows us pointing towards it being a 'squad based' shooter.

I'm fairly certain they have addressed this before...

If it turns out your right, then slap me - I just don't think you are.

Well, im just saying, now there is a little more evidence to suggest it. And why would they suggest squad based before? They wouldnt change the whole genre of game halfway through a trilogy.

Now that we have a....spin off, for lack of a better term, its the perfect chance for them to do something like this.

I don't always buy things reported by OXM, they have certainly been wrong before and no 3rd party publication is without reporting errors. If the inclusion of a former Ghost Recon creater is true than it certianly is feasable. Personally I feel they should do something the change it up a bit, the FPS format will get old eventually.

This is a great time for Halo fans though, two games accross two years! Thats pretty crazy consdering the time between the Halo sequals. I'm just hoping that doesn't mean the quality will suffer, but i'm sure it won't.

ODST was first thought to be squad-based.

Fair enough. I doubt they would be wrong about Bungie hiring this guy, though.

Bungie wants to be a multi-game developer. I think we are seeing this happening. I doubt it will suffer at all. If it has a multiplayer beta, its going to be huge no matter what genre it is.

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

Christian Allen was his name. I didn't hear about him being project head for Reach either and he left Bungie around GDC earlier this year.

As long as the core aspects of halo remain the same, and it's not class based Multiplayer only. If they do add class based then they should have it as an option on multiplayer. If they didn't keep the classic multiplayer intact it would be an epic fail IMO. I wonder if they'll integrate playing as ODSTs and Spartans in this game.

They are most likely going to reprogram the AI. You actually expect them to keep the AI the same as in Halo 3? Wow.
It is easily possible due to the guy they hired and the gun the spartan has on the left. That is way too realistic of a gun for any normal Halo game like halo 3. Seriously just look at that and then compare to R6V. It is an FPS so if it is a squad based game then it will be like Rainbow Six Vegas. But they just confirmed it as an FPS but perhaps they want to keep it as a surprise? Who knows until Bungie tells us more about it.

Well it's proof he doesn't work there anymore, but I guess he could've worked on Reach a little bit. And it certainly doesn't prove it's not squad based.

I personally don't think it will suffer either, but rushing has shown bad products in the past (Halo2 campaign). I'm curious as to just how long they have been working on it, I would imagine awhile since they are releasing a Beta inside of a year.

I just hope they do them justice. For obvious reasons, MC abilities as a Spartan are very downplayed in the games. Namely his speed and physical prowess, not to mention his visual capabilities and the lack of hand to hand ability. Naturally these things need to be altered to keep the game practical, but if your going to be watching Spartans kick ass, I hope they kick ass like a Spartan should.
