I was thinking about buying ODST for a little bit but i didn't see much value in it,thinking i could just borrow it from a friend and beat it.Then I saw the beta invites would be in it and that's what sold it for me and profoundly increased my love for bungie.Did any one else decide to buy ODST after this?

(Im not sure if this goes here or ODST forums.)

ISU Cyclones!

It definetly helps but the real #1 selling point in ODST for most people is probably Firefight.

Plekpedia - The most epic site in the history of ever.

Everything about ODST is awesome.

Nope, I was always going to buy it.

Dear Floodians:

A Girl thread a day keeps the ladies at bay and gets us banned, the lonely single way.

That AND Firefight made me thinking about buying it.

Some people will see the attachment of the Halo: Reach Beta invite as way to increase sales. Some people argued this with Crackdown when it was announced it would include a Halo 3 Beta invite. Of course the rumors started flying that Crackdown as a horrible game and that Microsoft was trying to cover it up by slapping something "Halo" on it. Crackdown sales did good, and possible due to the Halo 3 Beta invite, but the game was successful enough and had enough demand that Crackdown 2 is being made.

The similiar thing could be applied to Halo 3: ODST, but why do you need to slap more Halo on a already for sure seller? Halo 3: ODST is going to sale good no matter what the reviews say or what extra goodies are in it. Think of the Halo: Reach Beta invite as a treat for the loyal fans who support Bungie.

Please do not send me group invites, i will not accept or reply to them.

Loads of people were going to buy it anyway, that just helps it a little bit.

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

Not to me. The beta is icing on the cake. The campaign alone was good enough for me. (addition of Firefight is awesome as well)

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Is the beta key the selling point for a whole new campaign plus a new game mode (that people have been clamoring for since GOW2) plus every single additional map for the Halo3 MP plus 3 new maps? No it's not, it's an added bonus. Everyone that has been holding out on DLC for Halo3 will be getting a huge benefit over anyone that already purchased the maps, and even they are getting a new campaign, a new MP mode and 3 new maps.

It certainly depends on why you like Halo, but I do not see in any why why the Reach beta would be the selling point to a great package, this isn't Crackdown afterall.

Even if the Beta came separate via Crackdown 2. I would have still gotten ODST period!

Well, it plays a part. And it's just an invitation to the Beta. You'll have to wait a while for it to actually come out. and does FIREFIGHT mean anything to you?

Recent K/D ratio 2:1

Recent games is either 1st or 2nd place mostly.

The beta is basically the cherry on top of the sundae. I will love playing the beta and will be a very useful beta tester and I will report all the bugs and glitches.

Any ways i wasnt saying the game it self wasn't worth it I was thinking i could just borrow it from a friend and beat the campaign and the maps would possibly come out as a dlc later. And i dont think much of recon plus its the same halo 3 multi-player so i would just be back to doing the same things as before.

Gears of War 2 horde -.-

With skulls, random enemy spawns, and the waves are NEVER ENDING. As Joe said, it's just different.

It is the only reason I will be buying ODST. Hopefully ODST won't cost as much as full priced $60 game.

Im sure the waves wont stop but the difficulty increases will eventually stop and you will be playing the same difficulty of enemy over and over. And in gears the people eventually become harder and harder.
