the one man army that is.......................SAMDAMULE

2 things

1)can someone please tell me what the storyline is basically

2)you know ill admit i dont read the books, but (no offense) the books sound pretty crappy. I play the game for the fun of playing the game so please dont insult people who dont read the books. But if you enjoy the books then i say good for you. You have to realise not EVRYONE does

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

1) No one is sure exactly what the story is, although we can somewhat safely say it takes place on Reach.

2) Your missing out on some pretty good books. I don't read much and I enjoyed them quite a bit.

Signatures are for squares.

1. I'm not going to explain a story that has 6 books,2 graphic novels, A comic series, and 4 games.

2. Read the damn books, they aren't crappy, you're just lazy

I'll try to explain this as simply as possible. Some of the Spartan-IIs were sent down the Reach's surface to fight there, including Fred, Kelly and the new one Spartan-259. In the trailer when a voice says, "We just lost our bird!", that is Fred talking about how their Pelican was blow out of the sky and were forced to jump to the surface.

The Pillar of Autumn then escapes from the battle, and the Spartans are stranded. If you ever read Halo: First Strike, then you probably know what I'm talking about. If you need anymore explination please don't hesitate to ask.

You make me a sad sad Panda seeing this... :(

If you want the so called "cliff notes" you can check out halo.wikia.com. On the left side you will see a link for "books" and you can select the book you want to find out about.

i said if you enjoy them good for you i tried one i didnt like it im not being lazy i do READ i read lots of books actually

not me personally but i amvery good at sport and a lot of people on my football team would have the perception sitting and reading a book is lazy and not doing sport

its what you prefer not evryone has the same taste

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

The ultra-condensed version? The Fall of Reach (novel) covers the origions of the Spartan II's (super soldiers that MC is a part of), Cortana (the voice in the head of gamers), and Captain Keyes (the old man you tore the face off of in Halo CE). It outlines certain aspects of their history and personalities.

It also goes into a little more detail on the Covenant and the UNSC's first real encounter with them (not further fleshed out until Contact Harvest). The book climax's with the assault of Reach (military stronghold, training ground of the Spartans) and the supposed destruction of all Spartans besides MC and Linda (another Spartan that was seriously injured during one of the engagements). This sets the table for the Halo games and gives you a better idea who the MC is and his relationship with Cortana. I would recommend reading them.

Make Bungie.net More Enjoyable: Read & Follow

I implore you to read the books, especially The Fall of Reach. Since you have never read them, you have no basis to suggest they are 'crappy', while they are actually well written, in my opinion.

Posting on bungie.net should require that the user has had to have read a chapter book all the way through.

I do wrestling and football, yet I still choose to read Halo books.

Some of the books are good. The one you tried probably wasn't that good. I've read all of them (except Contact Harvest) at least twice and I say not all of them are actually that good, it depends on the author.

Halo: The Fall of Reach and Halo: The Ghosts of Onyx are by far realllllllllly good for books. They are my two favorite books and not just because they are Halo. I've read The Fall of Reach like 7 times so I'm really excited for this game. Halo: The Flood, Halo: The Cole Protocol, and Halo: First Strike arn't as good, but they are still worth the read. Halo: The Flood was my least favorite and I wouldn't recommend it.

Yeah, I say if you do read them, pick Halo: The Fall of Reach and Halo: The Ghost of Onyx. Whatever one you tried was definately not one of those two if you didn't like it.

If you choose not read, go to the HaloPedia, it has everything you need to know and then some. Google it.

And then when the game comes out it's a big joke and all the Spartans pull off thier helmuts and pull out thier REACH TOOTH BRUSHES and they all say "Remember to brush!" Then John-117 smiles with the gap between his teeth and there is a little sparkle and a ding sound!!!

Your best bet is to just look up the synopsis yourself.

Yeah Winter.. it's coming.

I love The Flood. It's my go to place for relaxation. If anyone needs me, then I'll be there.

Faith is my Shield,
Do not leap blindly into uncertainty,
And you may live to reap the rewards.

"The Important Thing Is To Never Stop Questioning,"

I'd suggest reading just to improve your grammar. Also, don't be lazy, even if you don't wish to read you can look up all this information online. Google is your friend! Take some inititive and stop asking others to do it for you. I'm sure this is a aspect you can apply to sports as well as this situation.
