Subject: Why not have a "Cheap Ass" version for $40

93% of statistics are lies. Formerly Xfire Grunt. Unfortunately, you can't change the WLID for your BNET account, so I had to create an alternate account. My other WLID was spam city (and it was my e-mail account too).

So why doesn't Microsoft publish a "cheap ass" version of ODST for $40 which only includes the first disc of ODST (and not the second one) and a code to download the second half of the mythic map pack. That is all I want. Perhaps they could get rid of the Halo:Reach multi-player beta as well. That seems pretty fair to me.

I am not interested in paying twice for content I already have. The GOW Dark Corners content is similar to this. You can go for a $15 version if you already have the map packs, or the $20 version if you don't.

Because Microsoft works on a " NO MERCY" type deal.
You get it or you don't.

Death to rank junkies.

Awesome idea, but businesses want money.

Yeah and Microsoft doesn't publish Gears of War either...........

Look for the signs, the keepers of the flame. They will lead you to war, and perhaps, to victory.

yeah. Seriously, Microsoft is so greedy, yet it forgets that alot of people already have most of the DLC's which discourages alot of people of buying it.
I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't already thought that making a cheaper version without ALL of the DLC will earn more money from the people who already have all the available DLC's. A version with only the 1st disc and a code for the 2nd part of mythic instead of the 2nd disc. Keep the Halo: Reach beta though, that's just a freebie, Microsoft isn't charging anything for it.

Yeah honestly I'm tired of hearing "24 maps" from all of these people ~ these are the same people who call other people cheap for not already owning those maps. I only see 3 new maps, I own 21 of those maps already.

Dark Corners is 1600 MS points. That's $20.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Microsoft knows a few million people would buy this game no matter what price. This would be a cool idea, but MS is more interested in lining there pockets.

Halo Wars didn't sell more then 2 million copies I think. Halo brand name =/ massive sales all of the time.

How come GOW DLC content changes but now Halo 3:ODST? I mean I'm not interested in rebuying map packs I already paid for....

Relax. It was a simple mistake.

Badge Man
Bungie.net

It does suck to pay for content you already have but look at it this way, if your DLC gets download somehow and you don't have Xbox LIVE anymore, you now have them backed up on the second disc, just like the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack disc.

They would line even more if they made a version without the 2nd disc and a code for Mythic part 2 instead.

Halo wars is a RTS, that cuts the 5 million fans down dramaticly. Then there is the RTS fans who know that console RTS usually isn't as good as PC/mac.

Even though I support your idea, I think you should see the world as it is.

Microsoft wont do this because it would cost them money (compared to what they would earn otherwise) and posting in one of Bungies forums isn't going to change anything. It's microsoft you need to talk to.

My DLC is pretty useless without Xbox live anyways. I no longer have access to matchmaking that way.

Gears of War is published by Microsoft. Because of fan outcry against the DLC, Epic changed the price. I don't believe that we can't have a similar thing in Halo 3:ODST.

Check Out my FileShare.
I was once on Bungie Faves. (Feb.7-15)
I'd like to know why I can't see the signatures of others of myself on the forum. I have made favs once, 7777 campaign kills, and I helped bring modders down when they were at their strongest

Look on the bright side, if you ever have a system link party and are short a copy of Halo you have an extra disc. lol

Yeah and how many people have an Xbox 360 and no Halo 3? I think halo 3 has around a 50% attatch rate, and I'm guessing the ones who don't have it don't like Sci-Fi games or aren't old enough.

Holla bip bip!!

I love how everyone thinks Bungie is a cash cow for Microsoft. The way I think of it, is that the Halo franchise is so good, that it keeps me from buying anything else. I could have a 360 Halo 2 and 3 and be perfectly happy. I don't buy any other crap because Halo is just that good.

I'm planning on getting the special edition so I can play as srg. johnson. I also heard about a special copy coming with a controller which I would like to get. Not both but the edition with both srg. and controller hopefully.

Well MIcrosoft is probably pretty happy with the $400 360, controllers, ,wi fi, Xbox Live subscription, and games to give you 15k gamerscore that you purchased.

I don't think that argument is valid. People buy the games they like, I don't think the Halo franchise stops people from buying games they want. It might for a couple that you are mildly interested in, but not very many.

They should have a 40 doller version, one with missing animations, renders and lighting. that would be worth it.
