We just need to instigate more elitism and Mythic shenanigans.

It seems that ODST will cost the full retail price of $60, which may or may not be justified based on the content.

It includes four map packs, three of which released for $10 originally, and the fourth likely would cost the same. It also includes the campaign and Firefight, so I think that $60 is fair.

The problem I have is that I have already paid for all but one of those map packs, I payed full price for Heroic and Legendary, and I bough Halo Wars LE which Included the Mythic (part 1) at approximately $15 extra (the other crap that came with LE wasn't worth jack -blam!- in my opinion, but that is beside the point).

I think the smartest thing to do would be to sell ODST with the option of buying the full package, or just the campaign and firefight, and then release the new maps on marketplace as well.

It is a bit ridiculous to pay for content twice.

I don't know how long the campaign is, or how much firefight is worth, but unless campaign + firefight + Mythic part 2 is really worth $60 I will be pretty angry, unless I can get the maps and game without paying extra.

The price is just irrelevant.

How to spell "space"?

S-P-ACE! SPACE!

It would be well worth it if you don't have LIVE.
Bungie's actually doing something good for their community with a disadvantage of not being able to play online, and those who do have LIVE come along and bash them for including DLC they already have, solely because they do not think of other people who could benefit from the DLC on disc.

I couldn't agree more with Reykjavik, I've already dropped about $30 on these map packs as have most fans of the Halo franchise. These fans are going to make up the majority of the people who buy ODST. So whats happening here is that the fans are being taken advantage of, by being forced to purchase the something they've already paid for just to get some new content. Content which Bungie has admitted to be nowhere near the size of a full game. So if I already bought all the map packs, then why am I being forced to pay full price for a game that the developers themselves have admitted to being not a full game? Full price for half a game? That is complete bull-blam!-. Being the hardcore fan that I am, I will still be purchasing ODST regardless of the price, but I am extremely angry that Bungie has taken advantage of it's fans like this.

Mizzou, that is stupid. $20 for a survival game mode? $5 for stupid armor? $5 for helping Bungie test their game for them?

If you pay twice, that's your fault. They always said that the maps would be available at some time. Consider it a cost of impatience.

Although, I don't feel that ODST warrants a $60 price tag, Microsoft knows people will pay it. Even if they are -blam!-ing under their breath about it.

Well personally I dislike survival gametypes, but that's beside the point. What I was getting at was that's not exactly extra content, it's just a new gametype. It's like adding capture the flag to matchmaking and charging $20 for it. I'm sure people do want Recon, but Bungie can go right ahead and charge $5 seperately for it because I don't particularly care for it (besides everyone is going to have it so the whole rare aspect of it, which is the only thing that makes it cool, is gone). As for the Reach beta I would be willing to pay $60 dollars for just that alone, trust me, I'm just as excited as you are, but that's beside the point. The fact is that by playing the Beta we're helping Bungie do their jobs....yet their charging us for it. See my point?

ahahahah yeah the maps will be available at some time, in the meantime they change matchmaking to require it on all the fun playlists.

Everyone is complaining about the $60 price tag, I have as well. But it doesn't change the fact that we're all going to buy it anyway.

Sucks, right?

I am not bashing them, I am just saying that I don't want to pay for something twice. If it is worth the $60, not including the old maps, then that is great. If not, then a lot of people are going to be pretty angry, myself included. It just doesn't make sense to set it up so you have to pay extra for new content, and it makes me less inclined to buy Bungie products, especially this one. I don't actually know how much value the campaign and firefight will have, or the maps, but I don't want to pay $60 for $40 worth of game + the maps I already have.

Odds are the game is worth it on its own merits, but that doesn't mean it absolutely will be.

for maps, campaign, firefight, and even the reach beta, sure, those are all worth money. But recon armor? you insult me.

I just think that if the game isn't worth it without the DLC that has already been released, and purchased by a lot of players, then they should sell it for what it is worth, and release DLC as a stand alone item.
