Subject: Question about the second disk

Okay, we heard Bungie is putting all the maps on there. But is it really necessary? Couldn't we just have gotten the other 3 maps as DLC with ODST? Or does Bungie just want us to not bother using our original Halo 3 disc for multiplayer?

Sorry if it was a little too much for anybody's mind or anything. Just wanted to know. D:

Perhaps this was to entice the "casual" crowd who left H3 after a round or two of DLC back to matchmaking.

I think it's just to save people the time it would take to download ALL of the DLC.

I think they might be doing that to get all the dlc maps to people who don't have them yet.

and to people who don't have XBL and still want to play LAN.

True, but kinda pointless to add the shipped maps. I mean if it was all DLC then I would understand making a disc with DLC maps.

And with the disk, you will be able to clear up that space on your hard drive taken up by the map packs.

I know i will delete them once I have it. Why bother having the same files in 2 places?

Maybe some new people who didn't buy H3 will join in now. It will be 2 years from the original H3 release to when ODST "drops".

@Ricard: Which is another reason I made this thread, why have the same files if you already downloaded them of MP. I mean sure, this disk is great for people who don't have access to LIVE but to people who had Halo 3 and gotten all the maps up till now, well, it just doesn't make much sense.

TheRealAxel: Look at it this way: Bungie doesn't have to include the second disk -- they're only doing it because they're nice.

It's a bonus. Simple as that.

@Struvee: True. Makes sense when you put it that way.

@Bapabooiee: I know, I had a feeling they were being nice about it, but still somewhat pointless to people who have the original Halo 3.

Recon armor was not gifted or bestowed upon me. I earned it through blood, sweat, and tears. Road to Recon complete, on to the next challenge. Halo 3: 1750/1750, ODST: 1000/1000, Reach: 1400/1400.

Does anyone know if you can still use Custom games and Forge with the second disk in ODST?
