Subject: Bungie, don't make the same mistakes you made in halo 3

93% of statistics are lies. Formerly Xfire Grunt. Unfortunately, you can't change the WLID for your BNET account, so I had to create an alternate account. My other WLID was spam city (and it was my e-mail account too).

No, Bungie should just put out more "assault rifles". By Assault Rifle I mean real Assault Rifles, something like the M16, G36c, and not SMGs.

The headshot SMG could come back, etc. We just need more guns like that. And less pointless "dual wield" guns.

Also, I disagree. The Battle Rifle is not dominant in Campaign. I think you are exagerating. I ussually used the AR/Dual wields in campaign a lot more. BR is useless against the flood (it is in fact the worst gun in the game against the flood). BR is also only useful against Grunts, Brutes and Jackals (on foot) in Campaign. The BR gets pitiful ammunition replenishment (Covenant weapons such as the Carbine are far smarter to use), and I ussually never use it in Campaign.

In Multi-player it is only used a lot because Halo 3 doesn't have very many Assault Rifle type weapons. In COD 4 I use the "BR" more, because I get 80% of my kills from "Rifle" class weapons and 20% from SMG class weapons. In Halo 3 I probably get 20% of my kills with the BR in non BR exclusive play lists. The Halo 3 BR is a lot weaker then the Halo 2 BR, by the way.

Not only do vehicles own it,

Yes, heavy duty Halo vehicles equipped with gattling guns or plasma cannons actually own the battle rifle. That must men the battle rifle isn't underpowered, especially since there aren't any vehicles on most maps! /sarcasm

Posted by: Wizzen jamesbut usually rushing with the AR can win over it and power weapons usually own against it as well.

No, unless you suck, rushing with an AR always fails. Power weapons may be a little better, but that's already saying something. And it depends on which ones.

It may look like I always use the BR, but then I always play SWAT and MLG anyways. It is very easy to take down a BR user on a small map. If you can't do this, then you suck with the Assault Rifle. The Halo 3 BR sucks compared to the Halo 2 BR. The maps in Halo 2 were like 60% of the size of the maps in Halo 3, and the BR was a power weapon in the game, after Rockets and Sword. I remember the shotgun was garbage in halo 2, and the Sniper Rifle was nerfed by the fact that auto-aim BRs could instantly de-scope you.

In fact a much better idea would be to just get rid of dual wield weapons and bring in guns like the scoped SMG of ODST and the Auto-Mag.

Just throwing it out there that the pistol in Halo:CE was a god-tier starting weapon that bordered on Game Breaker status, and the MP was still insanely fun.

Except it didn't break the game, it revolutionized it.

Then Bungie took two giant steps back and we now have Halo 3.

The Battle Rifle is the most dominating weapon of course, and I agree that the AR needs some serious improvement, It makes it a lot harder to kill of somebody once they control the hotspot of the map ( like sniper tower on Guardian). If it added more range and more ammo per clip it would be better.
