Subject: HELP! Question about ODST and new Multiplayer Maps

Bring your A game.

So according to the most recent update, ODST will have a separate disc that includes all of the maps released for Halo 3 so far, plus the 3 new maps that haven't been released (Heretic, Longshore, and Citadel).

Does that mean that the only way to play the new 3 maps is to use the ODST disc? Or will we be able to plug in the Halo 3 disc, and download the maps from the marketplace (hopefully without paying for the maps again)?

No, it means that you should try to look at Google, ODST's project page, or the pinned topics before asking us here, because you would easily find the answer, which is that everything Halo 3 is on that disc except for campaign.

Bring your A game.

You completely missed the point. Maybe you should have read my post a little more carefully.

Who cares if "everything Halo 3 except for Firefight and ODST Campaign" are on that second ODST disc. If I put in Halo 3, I won't have the 3 new maps on my Xbox.

So I'm asking if there's a way to use the ODST disc to download the new maps to the hard drive, or if the ODST disc will be used as a way to download the maps from Marketplace, or whether we'll have to always use the ODST second disc to play the new maps.

Does anyone know?

You still miss my point. If you researched, you would know that the ODST maps aren't going to be on the marketplace.

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

Not sure if that is possible. I would say just use the ODST disc. The old Halo 3 disc would be useless unless you wanted to play campaign. Good question though.

Thank you Mizzou for an actual answer instead of "you should have researched." However, that only crosses off the Marketplace option.

It wouldn't be useless at a LAN! Basically, the ODST disc becomes a second copy of Halo 3 with ALL the maps, which is perfect for a LAN b/c not everyone has paid for the maps. But it would suck if there was no way to play the new maps apart from the ODST disc.

Please take this into consideration Bungie/Microsoft! There are those of us who will still use the Halo 3 disc!

"Anyone can give up it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's the true strength."

I doubt that the maps will be released other than the ODST disk. Afterall, the matchmaking playlists are gonna change to "all maps" required. You'll end up being forced to buy ODST to playing matchmaking. Perfecto Dinero.
