There is something wrong with the time that takes place in H3: ODST.
If you look at this screen shot of DARE http://www.bungie.net/projects/odst/guide.aspx

You can clearly see that the date on the photo is October 20, 2552, which is on or around the same day that SPARTAN 117( aka Master Chief ) led the offensive to take back New Mombasa from the Covenant. So how could the date on the photo be right Master Chief is supposed to be fighting the Covenant somewhere in space, also this game takes place three weeks before H3 so how could Master Chief fought in New Mombasa on October 20, 2552. And why would bungie mess up these dates, or is this all part of the plan to take over the world.

It just doesn't add up.

not really, their answers do not tell me why the dates do not add up or give a good counter example.

The offensive as far as Master Chief is concerned was essentially only the morning of October 20 2552. He was forced to leave the town through the slipspace rupture. The battle continued without him, however, and ODSTs were dropped in. Due to the damage to the city, though, the battle went on on much different terms, as experienced in H3: ODST.

Well, not sure about what it means but, You have to take slipspace effects...into effect. In The First Strike, slipspace alters time and space.

What answer would you like to hear? Both the ones you've been given make perfect, common sense. Think about them.
Look at Halo 2's events in New Mombasa, which took less than a day from when the Chief arrived there to when the Covenant cruiser made the jump to slipspace. That's the same jump you see at the beginning of Halo 3: ODST.
So what doesn't make sense to you?

If you were serious about giving someone a code, Mizzou gets the prize.

Their answers are both simple and correct. What is so hard to understand about this?

you may also notice that right under the date its says ERR (Error). So dont take that date too seriously either.

I was in 5th grade. I popped in the Halo CE disc into the massive, clunky first generation Microsoft Xbox, and wrapped my small hands around the controller that was almost too big for me. Little did I know what I was getting into.

10+ years later, I still look up to my childhood hero, Master Chief, while everyone talks about He Man and Spongebob haha

We shouldn't have to explain this any further! Hehe,

Just because John 117 leaves doesn't mean that the day ends.

He simply went to another place, i.e. Delta Halo, and the day continued on.

The day ALSO continued in New Mombasa, where the ODSTs dropped right after he left.

Relativity.

People can be in different places, but time can still remain the same.

For instance, if you leave the house to go to school, it doesn't mean that your baby brother has to go to sleep because it's night time. Because it's not! Haha.

Also, about the New Mombasa offensive taking only a day...well, if the last planet where our species remained was being invaded, how fast would you mobilize? Huh?!?

^_^
