Subject: Is this game doomed?

I mean really? Some people want Halo Combat Evolved, some people want Halo 2, some people want Halo 3, some want a little bit of either two or a mix of the three, some people want something new, and some people want Call of Duty. Not to mention the large number of people who hate Halo and mock the game for being overrated, despite themselves underrating the game severely with hate it doesn't deserve. I just don't see a real win win situation.

I think that if they just improve the multiplayer from halo 3 not much else will matter

You can't please everyone, nor does Bungie try to do so. It is Bungie's job to make a good game and one should not be unfair and say they dislike it until they at least play it.

There may be a large number that hate halo, but that number is nothing compared to the numbers that love the franchise. Halo is huge. I just hope the multiplayer is not a re-hash of halo 3's. I wan't to see something different, class based.

got a little off-topic, but no it's not doomed.

I think that people are going to be very satisfied with Reach. If you think about it Bungie has made 3 Halo games now and they have had massive amounts of feedback from all of their fans concerning every minor detail about the games. They will obviously use all of this information to bring us the best gaming experience possible. Im expecting Reach to be simply amazing.

What you are referring to is a "Broken Base". Fanbase, that is.

The best thing you can do in this situation is to do what you want to do without making concessions for the legions of whiny fans that will complain even if they get what they want, due to some asinine detail that only -blam!- retentive people could moan about. When you do your own thing, people tend to eventually sway over to the new system, or at least find it somewhat tolerable.

People disagreeing means Halo has failed? What? What?
