i just thought of this, in starcraft theres a race, called Xion or something like that, had all this technology crap, they edged to make a perfect race they made protoss and zerg(zerg are really similiar to flood) maybe the Xion are also Forunners, because they could have made the flood and they defintely had technology like the Forunner that could allow em to build halo, also just thought of something else, maybe that would explain covenant because maybe they made covenant like they made protoss because they are also really simliar, that would explain covenant thinkg forunners are gods

Yes, bungie and blizzard got together and decided they were going to have inter-connected games from different companies.

I don't know about a connection between halo and starcraft, but I know there is no connection between my name and starcraft (despite popular belief). I haven't ever palyed the game, so I don't know what "Zealot" has to do with starcraft. Apparently something, since everyone thinks thats where I got my name.

It was not a good job at all.. the connections are vague at best and its from two seperate game companies (you would have to try out what I call ''reality'' to know that though).

Ok, actually the race was the Xel-naga, and I'm surprised anyone actually read the storyline beacuse

A: Most people never read the storyline in the manual (or even the manual itself)
B: It means you have a true copy of the game, which is actually quite rare. It seems everyone has a burnt copy.

Good on you.

And actually, I wouldn't be too quick to scoff at this possible connection. In the interview with Parsons from Bungie, the Halo designer was asked where he gets his ideas and inspirations from and he mentioned that he gets them form books he read, other stories and other games.

TZ the Zealot is the Protoss basic infantry, and the Templar is the advanvce infantry.

TZ the Zealot is the Protoss basic infantry, and the Templar is the advanvce infantry.Templar is the name of the whole warrior caste in the SC fiction, but it also refers specifically to more psionically advanced warriors in-game. A Zealot is a basic soldier with big glowing blades, a Dragoon is a warrior whose crushed body has been stuck into a big cyborg shell dealy, a High Templar is an advanced psychic unit with spells instead of weapons, and a Dark Templar is a powerful invisible melee unit. Dark Templar are only buildable in Brood War. All are of the Templar Caste within Protoss society. Archons and Dark Archons are High and Dark Templar, respectively, that have dissolved and melded into big badass special units. That should clear it up and more...

Jay has two copies of StarCraft and Brood War so as to play on a LAN, and both were bought legally. Jay can't cheat Blizzard when they sell such a great thing as the SC Battle Chest for less than a Jackson.
StarCraft being an influence is almost a given; who isn't influenced by it?
The name's spelled Xel'Naga, FYI.

Me: "OMFG, Dude... wtf!"
AbolitionofMan: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you."
Me: "That's the 4th time in this game alone!"
Chris: "Third, besides he had the flag I was trying to stop him, how was I supposed to know you were there."
Me: "I said, 'I got the Flag, don't shoot.'"
Chris: "Well those Wraith shots take a while to reach you."
Me: "You were right next to me, I had killed him and a minute passed before you decided to shoot."
Chris: "Hahahahaha, yeah... that was great."

Indeed. I too have read through all the manuals and storylines. To me, a game can be a game, but without a good storyline or plot the game will suck, (unless it has a good Multi hence why many who know S H I T about Starcraft love it so much), and the storyline is what I love most about Halo. I'll give up all the nefty features, all the new hotness, all the stellar graphics so long as I have an amazing storyline. And Bungie has given us that, and for that I thank them immensly.

Yeah I fail to see any connection between the Forerunners and the Xel'Naga. The Xel'Naga are far less ambiguous than the Forerunners, because if you recall, Protoss lived with the Xel'Naga for a while.

But now that I think about it- Xel'Naga unleashed the Zerg on Auir... Forerunners + Flood... I guess it is quite possible. StarCraft had an awesome storyline.
