TZ the Zealot is the Protoss basic infantry, and the Templar is the advanvce infantry.Templar is the name of the whole warrior caste in the SC fiction, but it also refers specifically to more psionically advanced warriors in-game. A Zealot is a basic soldier with big glowing blades, a Dragoon is a warrior whose crushed body has been stuck into a big cyborg shell dealy, a High Templar is an advanced psychic unit with spells instead of weapons, and a Dark Templar is a powerful invisible melee unit. Dark Templar are only buildable in Brood War. All are of the Templar Caste within Protoss society. Archons and Dark Archons are High and Dark Templar, respectively, that have dissolved and melded into big badass special units. That should clear it up and more...

Ok, actually the race was the Xel-naga, and I'm surprised anyone actually read the storyline beacuse
A: Most people never read the storyline in the manual (or even the manual itself)
B: It means you have a true copy of the game, which is actually quite rare. It seems everyone has a burnt copy.
Good on you.
And actually, I wouldn't be too quick to scoff at this possible connection. In the interview with Parsons from Bungie, the Halo designer was asked where he gets his ideas and inspirations from and he mentioned that he gets them form books he read, other stories and other games.Jay has two copies of StarCraft and Brood War so as to play on a LAN, and both were bought legally. Jay can't cheat Blizzard when they sell such a great thing as the SC Battle Chest for less than a Jackson.
StarCraft being an influence is almost a given; who isn't influenced by it?
The name's spelled Xel'Naga, FYI.
