Subject: Quick question about the discs..

I tried posting in the weekly update thread but no luck.

So let me get this straight.. Once I buy ODST, since it has two discs, will I even be using my old Halo 3 disc anymore? Unless I want to play the original campaign I suppose.

Correct. Disc one has Firefight, ODST's campaign, Theater, and Extras (which will include Halo: Reach's Beta), and Disc Two contains basically everything Halo 3 besides the campaign. It will also include all 24 maps on disc.

Alright thanks =D I have a crack in my original H3 disc, on the inner ring. I don't know why though, I take good care of my stuff. It only works when I put it in half of the time, so I have to try multiple times just like back in the nintendo days, haha.

"Nah. As long as the prince of darkness is okay with it. I am too. But thanks anyway, Mr. Velvet Spider."

xD

I believe that's correct. What bugs me is the so-called $60 dollar price point that can be easily reduced. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the only difference between the second disc in ODST and normal Halo 3 multiplayer the addition of 3 new maps? Wouldn't it be more cost effective then to just take out the second disc and give players a DLC code to redeem those 3 maps in Halo 3?

I seems as though Bungie doesn't doesn't what it wants to do with ODST. They call it an "expansion" yet now there trying to sell it as a full priced game by tagging on the old Halo 3 multiplayer. While I don't mind paying that price (I've paid that price for games that have half as much content as ODST). It seems a bit odd in my opinion.

Edit: I believe they should sell a $30-$40 dollar version that does not contain the second disc and just a redeem code for the 3 extra maps.

I agree. I thought we played as ODST's in multiplayer. Slightly disappointing. I guess that is what reach will be for.
