Subject: yo i think the spartan in the sillouette is holdn a br

thats really all i had to say,

looks like an elite holdin a turret 3 odsts one with some knife like weapon on with what looks to be a pistol one with a sniper with the mark V spartan in the middle with a br, due to its long barrel on the front.

just tryin to confirm that there should be brs since theres a br in the photo above this post.

In the jungle of war there is always a lion.

Remember Elites legs are bent backwards and those tree stumps, though human defying are quite human looking to me.

It wouldn't be an Elite...cos remember in this stage in the Halo storyline humans and covenant are sworn enemies.

It's only mid-halo 2 where elites come to your side, so why would they be fighting with Spartans at Reach?
They're all spartans, that one is probably just taller and/or with more bulkier armour. You can see the three in the middle are different heights also.

Also, the middle one looks to be holding an AR than a BR. Just the way it looks thick and curves at the bottom. Also even at that angle you'd be able to see the scope on the BR, and the barrel would be slightly longer.

Bungie got rid of the BR in ODST...I hope that don't mean they'll do the same with Reach. Without an accurate mid-long range weapon, Halo multiplayer falls apart into unskilled rushing, spray and praying meleeing fights.
The inpatient and quick-to-judge quickly dismissed Halo 3 as a spray and pray game, mainly due to the AR starting weapon, which meant they used that almost all the time and obviously the AR induces that kind of gameplay behaviour.

Without the BR though, their judgements really are true.

if it is an elite with a turret, then itll be the arbiter. looks more like a flamethrower to me tho. If it is a spartan though, i would assume that he is closer to the 'camera' if u like. I think its arby tho

It's an AR for two reasons. BRs have a gap in the front where the AR doesn't, and BRs were rare back then.

Agreed. This one looks like an assault rifle with an extended barrel and maybe a scope on the top, can't make it out properly

Yeah, I reckon that the character on the far left could be a Spartan in an older form of Power Armour, perhaps the Mk 3 (Which was the most advanced before the Mk 4). I can't imagine it being an Elite, as there were no Elite allies present during the Battle of Reach... unless Bungie change the story to their preferences, of course.

Also, I agree that the Spartan in the middle is holding an Assault Rifle. This doesn't mean that the Battle Rifle won't make an appearance though, it's just that the Assault Rifle is the most iconic Halo weapon, which is why the centre character is holding one.

Oh, and there is an accurate mid to long range weapon in ODST. It's that new pistol, which looks to have similar capabilities to the Battle Rifle, which means that the game still has an accurate mid to long range weapon. This means that if the BR won't make an appearance, we'll see the return of the long range pistol as the game's mid to long range weapon choice. ODST also has the Covenant Carbine, which is basically a semi-automatic Battle Rifle.
