In the jungle of war there is always a lion.
-Tsun Tsu

I think hype is going to grow fast and very soon. Realize that fans of the book are a sell and Bungie has always been great with hype marketing. Also right now the main focus is ODST. Wait until you see those sales and Beta Testers before you knock hype for REACH.

Heard joke once.

I agree with Lion of War that the main focus is Halo 3: ODST currently but as soon as it has been "dropped" the focus will switch over till Reach and the hype will "reach" greater levels.

I apologize for my bad jokes but I couldn't stop myself :)

No pandemonium? This is more than what I remember of Halo 3.

Halo: CE > > Halo 3 > Halo: Reach = Halo 2

As mentioned, the focus is on ODST. Give it time and the whore will have the children suckling for its milk again.

thats because everyone was wanting to "finish the fight" and halo 2's multiplayer was the only thing people were playing back in the day [me included] so it was extremely hyped. and halo reach trailer doesnt show as much as the halo 3 trailer did, as far as graphics go.

Halo 3 Academy Staff
RvB Episode 100- Sarge destroying computer Vic says "Whoa dude that was my Heat Sink now how the f*** am I going to sink my heat"

PETA: People for the Eating of Tasty Animals

my guess is that its being under hyped because they are just using it to hype ODST (with the beta invite) i bet there will be much more hype come November-ish

Um as far as graphics go, well it's from space, it's a trailer and you're not actually seeing any actual gameplay are you? And as for the trailer, well do you realise how many people play Halo that DO NOT read the forums, updates or generally visit this site? It will be published eventually and when it does the hype will go straight up. As for whether or not it will be up to par with Halo 3's sales is another thing but I can tell you it will be a pretty big seller when it does come out. But I think it will really depend on the performance of ODST. If that sells big they hype from the beta testing in that will be massive. But many people purchased Halo Wars even though it was an RTS, because it was Halo (even though the population has gone done massively) and it had the maps so I think both ODST and Reach will perform very well. And there is nothing wrong with the story or the mulitplayer in my experience.

Personally, I'm more excited for ODST simply because it comes out earlier. After ODST has worn off a bit, the hype will start for Reach.

Why So Serious?

Think of it this way: As time goes on, the product and it's hype will get larger and larGER and LARGER. But yeah, right now the main topic on everybody's mind is ODST.

Lol....Halo 3 multiplayer is far less noobtacular than Halo 2 MP.

No BXR, Super Jumps, Crazy Mods, Standbys.....I think I could right a term paper on how much better Halo 3 MP is compared to Halo 2 MP.

I will say, I still miss a lot of Maps from H2 though.

Heretic = Midship

Longshore = Relic

Citadel = Sanctuary

How is Halo 3's gameplay "noobed up"?

decreased aim assist and ROF on the sniper

Did I read that right? Did you just say that LOWERING aim assist on a weapon noobs up a game? That has got to be the one of the dumbest comments about a weapon I have heard about Halo 3, that means it is right up there with "The AR takes skill at close range".

Now for me to post about them making it more hardcore. If this is the last Halo game Bungie is going to make then they SHOULD make it more Hardcore. Why? Well it is obvious, they already have the fan base that they know will buy it, which is huge. They don't have to worry about the consumers buying the next Halo game because they wouldn't be making another.

Basically, if they do make it more harcore then it will not hurt the sales as long as Bungie doesn't come out and say "Hey we made 90% of the games multiplayer take skill." before the game is out then it would do well.

Only time will tell. We have more than one year left to wait and ODST is right around the corner.
