whats up with the brute energy sheilds? they never had them before. yes i know its before halo 3 but still why would they make it energy shields instead of power armour

The power armor in Halo 3 has recharging shields, too.

Acctualy brutes did in fact have energy shields in Halo 3. Their armor is just like ours. When our shields are low our armor glows in certain areas. Unlike ours it does not recharge and it falls off after heavy amounts of fire.

the brutes with hammers have sort of an overshield so you cant damage them

It works exactly the same as the Brute armour in Halo 3. I suppose Bungie just reckoned the shield effects in ODST looked cooler, which easily explains the change. I just wish the armour didn't disappear when you lower the shields!
