In campaign the idea of each player going seperate ways in a bid to flank patrols, sounds like the stuff of dreams if you have a couple of buddies. What happens when you just want to play through on your own?

Following on i'm guessing there will be the odd usable vehicle scattered about say like a Warthog, but it's surely not going to be be half as much fun if you're on your own.Chewing up on enemy patrols in this mode needs there be a 2nd player or AI manning the gun

Unless of course there simply isn't this type of gameplay within the city gameplay which of course would be something of a blow

I'm hopeing ODST is along similar lines of a reimagined E3 original Mombassa, but the more i think about what seems in place already, with you being alone for the most part, my expectations have dropped a little

I simply don't know what you have in place of course but it would be nice to know you have geared ODST towards a single player experience as much as it is also for a bunch of chums

Is there really no AI buddies in the main city part? i sure hope not

ODST Romeo

They said in the night mission you will have more of a stealth role, and in the daytime it'll be more of a battle scenario. I'd assume that you won't have to worry about driving anything at night when you're by yourself.

Punch a bear in the face.

If you don't know who I am, the feeling is mutual.

Yeah, while thinking about the solo missions, I was wondering how the Rookie would deal with ghosts or other vehicles if he couldn't find the proper weapons like a rocket launcher. It makes more sense that the night will only have patrols.

Memento mori.

Well, unless all your Squad Members turn out to be dead (I really don't think so), then you have Dutch, Romeo, Mickey, and Buck as AI partners to tag along with you once you link up with each of them.

It's Bungie so i'm sure they have it all worked out. It's just that it would be a shame to miss out on any vehicle stuff possible with coop(if usable vehicles are indeed in the city gameplay), if you don't ever at any time have any friendly AI on these city parts

Just have to wait and see

Indeed i was thinking that AI would indeed be those main characters mentioned so far. However who would your coop buddies be if you play a 4player campaign session?

Find out soon enough anyway

Even if all your squad is dead, there is probably a good chance that New Mombassa police will be scattered about.

Yup that sounds reasonable to expect

At night, I doubt you will have any AI allies; Bungie has stated multiple times that their aim was to have you alone in a big city watching out for patrols.

In the flashbacks, I expect you will have AI allies almost all the time.

Maybe you just play as run-of-the mill ODSTs, with Player 1 being the main character in the scene, player 2 being the secondary(Like Micky to Dutch), and the others be regular ODSTs.

Spartans are from Venus and Elites are from Uranus

I didn't see any warthog in the trailer. I doubt there will be many vehicles in the parts of the game where you're alone in the present In the trailer the only thing I saw was a mongoose and those aren't much more useful with a friend than they are alone.

I remember in Halo 3 though vehicles sometimes changed a bit based on the amount of players in co-op. I remember that if there were two or less player in the finale there would just be one warthog but if it were three or more there would be two worthogs.

However, I think that in flash back sequences theres potentially more vehicles as there are other marines and ODSTs around in those segments.
